That would almost make it worth buying a hybred
in that you can use it as an emergency back-up generator if you know how to hook up an inverter.
Or you could go get a Honda genset for about $350 and not worry about insurance, inspections, replacing high dollar batteries, or tires- not to mention the $350 high amp inverter.

I have Fox News on in the background
Right now there is some arrogant black guy with a fly-sized mole next to his nose lying about oil production.
He's lying about last year being the most productive in history and then he was (before I muted the TeeWee)lying about how he's going to increase oil production production this year.
Kinda like he was going to last year- before he shut down all new oil in the gulf.

I wonder if he's in a union
Because even though he was working for a municipal gov't- I can't see him getting paid $80K/year for not working because he pissed off his boss.
Than got fired, and then rehired through arbitration, but was told to stay home for seven years.
AND collecting raises, vacation and retirement points.
But, Hey- he's eligible for retirement next year- yay!
I think I remember seeing this about six months ago... with the same pic of him before he probably gained a buttload of poundage.

You call that chili?
Serves 6-8
1 large onion
1 green bell pepper
Several cloves of garlic
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground turkey or beef
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon ground oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground basil
1 tablespoon chili powder
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar
Several fresh tomatoes, depending on size (or
1 15-ounce can of diced tomatoes with juice)
1 (15 ounce) can red kidney beans
Dude- seriously- and I'm not even talking about the beans.
If you didn't know who's recipe this supposedly was...wouldn't you call that not much more than soup?
Seriously a QUARTER TEASPOON of spices? Our cats would turn their noses up at it because it was so bland. And what about those dairy products that you want to put on afterwards- doesn't MEchelle have something to say about that?
Wha's next from Pez. Everyman, a soup sandwich? -Oh, wait, that got made in 2010 in both Democrat controlled halves of Congress.
But then again, you are from chicagoland...so maybe they think it's real chili. I'm surprised there are no noodles in it...

On the Islamic on Christian beatdowns
Obama finally has something to say to the "Forces of democracy" in Egypt that he helped to force Mubarak out who are starting an Islamist pogrom against Christians.
From his heart- as a "Christian by choice"...
But, HEY! We're looking at democracy taking over Egypt- Yay! In the form of the Muslim Brotherhood...Yay- a family business :-S (?)

So, Mitt Romneycare just can't wrap his ego around the fact that all Americans don't want the grandfather of Obamakare to be anywhere near the White House in 2012.
But, that's ok- we're just igr'nt backwards rednecks who don't have the sophistication to understand that our betters know how we need to be taken care of better than we do.
He's trying to make a cow patty into a serving plate for the 2012 election, and the White House is doing all it can to help.
Hey Mitt, here's a good campaign pic for your website.

Am I the only one who remembers
That when the Democrats started pulling money out of SocSec back in the `70's, that HEY- it's ok- because they put in IOU's!
I remember hearing that when I was in H.S. and thought it strange that I was the only one who picked up on the fact that the ONLY money going in was paid for by the same people who were going to have to repay that IOU.
I guess I has already rejected the cool-aide without knowing.
Now that magical pot of free money is empty and we have both parties to blame- including a willing and complicit mews media who savaged any Republican who tried to do anything to slow down it's bankruptcy.
Now it's knocking on the door just in time to hit Republicans in the face when they take over the Senate in 2012.

Neither here nor there
I was over at IOTW when I saw this girl in their sidebar:
And I thought WOW- she's hot!
Then, I thought...I bet she's REALLY high maintenance.
And I thought WOW- she's hot!
Then, I thought...I bet she's REALLY high maintenance.
You remember that spiking the football thing?
About why we're not going to see the kill shot of OBL, and rubbing it in their faces?
So as we don't want to give them any more excuses to hate us...or something.
Unless we need to keep dancing in the blood at our political rallies to prove our creds...
Yeah, about that...
How about a penalty for excessive celebrating?

When can we start calling it a quagmire?
So now, instead of a 'limited time frame of days or weeks' in General kickazz's Libyan expedition to....ummm...whenever our ever-changing goals are met.
The meetings come as a deadline nears on the 60-day window Obama has to keep the U.S. military involved in the Libya campaign without congressional approval. While lawmakers do not appear likely to enforce the limits outlined in the War Powers Resolution, U.S. officials said they are looking for ways to keep U.S. action in Libya in compliance.
Yeah, what about that pesky ol' War Powers Resolution? Why, it's our Chicago Jeezus- he'll be able to do whatever he wants with no adverse consequences.
White House spokesman Jay Carney offered no specifics Friday on how the U.S. planned to do that, only saying that officials were, "in regular communications with Congress and that will continue."
And be ready to hear about those unexpected detours of arms and money to AQ-A'stan when we start shoveling money to AQ-the Med.
The U.S. has stepped up its support of anti-Gadhafi rebels, with Obama authorizing $25 million in non-lethal assistance and $53 million in humanitarian aid.
The White House said it was looking for ways to increase U.S. financial support to the opposition, in part through congressional legislation that would free up a portion of the more than $30 billion in frozen Gadhafi regime assets in U.S. banks so it could be used to aid the rebels.
"We believe that if we could access and use blocked government of Libya assets it could make a significant amount of money available to alleviate the suffering of the Libyan people," Carney said.

A quick question for any geeky readers
Say you got a new laptop and didn't copy the factory image like you would if you were smart, and you kept getting the same maleware that Norton only catches when one of the hard drives is working too much.
So, I unplug the 'net and start scanning things with Norton and have to finish with Malwarebytes to get the automatic scanning started on Norton again.
The question, now that I'm putting it back to factory out-of-the-box condition, what would be better for a restore platform? DVD or thumb drive?
(Odd, Fire Fox doesn't recognize maleware as a word--or malware either)

Yes, that will certainly settle things
Let's send the pompous gasbag Thurston Kerry III over to Pakistan to calm things down.
Because they respect a war hero....
I guess they figure that by the time Admiral Kerry gets done droning on endlessly, that they'll all be too drowsy to do any more protesting.
It looks like the only thing stopping Lurch from picking himself off the floor is the Sgt's self discipline.

Belay that last
In a one-sentence memo obtained by The Associated Press, Rear Adm. Mark Tidd, chief of Navy chaplains, said his earlier decision has been “suspended until further notice pending additional legal and policy review and interdepartmental coordination.”
The Village People last seen hugging each other in sympathy...
I'm going to go out on a limb here
And wonder how much the union had to do with all that shoddy work that has kept a Navy Cruiser in port since it's last refit.
“Bottom line: severe problems with engines, missiles, guns, links, comms and aviation,” Rear Adm. Rob Wray, president of INSURV, wrote in the April 7 email addressed to the heads of Fleet Forces Command, Pacific Fleet and Naval Surface Forces. “The ship’s material condition did not support underway operations, area air defense operations, or principal warfare commander command and control requirements.”
~snip~
Upon discovering metal debris in the port main reduction gear, the shaft had to be locked for most of the underway part of the inspection. All seven gas turbine engines and generators had multiple problems that precluded their operation. The SPY-1 radar was unable to operate at minimum power and the Aegis weapon system couldn’t provide a “recommend fire” alert in simulation mode, preventing Standard Missile-2 launches. The forward deck gun was inoperable due to a faulty firing pin. Connectivity issues hampered data links, email, radio circuits, naval messages, instant messaging — even Tomahawk mission planning.
How odd- I wonder why it showed up all of a sudden?
OH!
Mobile Bay had completed a 10-month overhaul, billed by Naval Sea Systems Command as “the most comprehensive upgrade and modernization program in the history of the U.S. Navy,” according to a Navy newsstand story. The second cruiser to complete the modernization, the ship had a combat systems upgrade, installing the latest updates to the Aegis weapon system.
So, which union brotherhood do we have to thank for that?
H/T Bob.

I just sent a letter to my Texas Lege
Actually, I sent it to my state rep. in the Lege. and if you know any Texas gun owners you should send them over to The weapons blog for more info on how to get involved on uging them to approve open carry.
Here is my letter. He's a Dem, but not one of those rabid Marxist ones you'd have from Houston or Austin.
Dear Representative King,
I am sure you are aware that HB 2756 (allowing a CHL holder to openly carry a holstered weapon) is set to come up for vote on the House Floor soon.
As you may, or may not realize- if a CHL holder inadvertently allows any part of their pistol to be seen in public- they are subject to arrest and imprisonment.
With the passage of Open Carry, we will have less law abiding citizens arrested for a fluke of circumstance.
Also you may hear the old refrain about turning Texas "Back to the wild west" with shoot-outs on every corner and blood in the street. Perhaps that would be for the better, because in all actuality- the old west had less per-capita gun violence than most large cities in modern America.
In addition to the need to mentioning the Second Amendment- if I were to get a CHL, I wouldn't want to have my rights to freedom taken away by an errant gust of wind that lifted my shirt.
Thank you for your time,
Kurt P
Hondo, Tx
And I got sent their from Sam.
Who I probably need to apologize to for calling his kids fat and illiterate in my previous post- because I'm only making assumptions based on the complete control Dems and unions have on the entire state.

When I first read this, I thought he was a Democrat
But Illinois state Sen. Shane Cultra, R-Onarga needs to turn in his Republican card at the first party office he can find. Or, the Republicans should revoke his membership for something so stupid as to tax parents of fat kids.
"It's the parents' responsibility that have obese kids," said state Sen. Shane Cultra, R-Onarga. "Take the tax deduction away for parents that have obese kids."
Cultra has not introduced legislation to deny parents the $2,000 standard tax deduction, but he floated the idea Tuesday, when lawmakers took a shot at solving the state's obesity epidemic.
Ohh, it's 'for the children!', well that makes it all better. Because I first thought that it had something to do with the states HUGE tax shortfall instead of a bunch of semi-literate fat kids.

I've never heard it sung like this
Of course, I was taught it in primary school by white folks who probably never knew anyone who was a generation away from being a slave.
AS opposed to these who may actually have been slaves.
Because I didn't know about the National Jukebox until I saw it at Bredas place, so thank you Mrs Librarian!

She IS the teacher of the year
And obviously an 0bamaphile
Like 0bama said, she represents all teachers who can't get close enough to their Chicago Jeezus. I know she couldn't help herself being overwhelmed by the Wonness.
That just doesn't look accidental on her part, does it?
Is this better?

So now the State is hijacking my cell phone
And I can't opt out of hearing about some kid running away getting abducted in Maine where I have absolutely no contacts and could really give a chit less.I'm going to hear my phone going off at three in the morning to find that there was a tornado hitting somewhere in Oklahoma (again, and again). Because it's some kind of national emergency that I have to see the White House sending "URGENT" messages about why 0bama needs to stay in office, and to call your congressman NOW to keep healthcare?!
I bet they don't give warnings when Mr. Common Man snarls traffic for hours to get his motorcade to his fundraisers.
Or to find out that an unknown hurricane just snuck up on the borough of Queens.
So- who is going to be paying for these intrusive and unwanted campaign messages from the Community Organizer in Chief? I have a prepaid plan, do I get to charge the .GOV for those wasted minutes?
Stop laughing!

Progress
Pissed has a post up that will (or might make you wish that you could) remenber back when common sense ruled instead of the statist zero tolerance policy that has gradually suffocated our way of life.
I remember those days where a cop would tell you to knock-it-off, or go home instead of ruining your life by hauling you off to jail for being a stupid teenager.
Which reminded me of this- which will never happen again. because cops aren't cops anymore, they're the storm-trooper inactive reserves.

How could I have been so mistaken?
According to pr.Gutsy- on his 60 Min. (too long) interview:
“We thought it was important to think through ahead of time how we would dispose of the body if he were killed in the compound. And I think that what we tried to do was — consulting with experts in Islamic law and ritual — to find something that was appropriate, that was, respectful of the body.”
You see, ever since that mistake we made by trying too help Somalia-I was under the impression that the proper way to dispose of your foes body was to drag it naked through the streets while mutilating it prior to burning it.

THUMP! Goes the rubber stamp
Of the FISA Court (lead by Eric Holder)as it approves all 1506 of the Obama machines DoJ requests for electronic domestic surveillance.
Which is 13% higher than 2009. But don't worry, they're Democrats:-)
There is no numbers about those evil warrantless wiretaps that BusHitler used when he was becoming a dictator.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Dear democrats who are smarter than me
That would, I guess be all of you. Even those who think the sun has nothing to do with how hot the earth gets.
According to the latest in the ever evolving story about the OBL raid, there was a mysterious video blackout of about 20 minutes of the raid.
That's why nobody knows what went on- so they tell us.
I wasn't there, never would have been because I was a SeaBee, not a SEAL.
But SEALs aren't stupid- no matter what you think of them. They have the same self-protection instincts as everyone else.
They follow things in the real world, they see what kind of threats are out there and take steps to reduce their risk.
They probably have a better handle on what goes in in the White House than those working there. So when they see this happening, they find a way to reduce their risk.
I'm not as smart as those SEALs, but if I were doing something that had a good chance of biting me in the @ss- I would find a way to not have a video record for prosecutors to use against me...

I already told you Newt- NO!
Now you're hitting up another of my e-mail boxes for money?
NO! I don't want you on the ticket!
NO! I won't give you any money!
Really dude, I know you'r just another Washington Insider who likes to pretend for the ignrn't peons in unwashed-land that you 'care' and are some kind of conservative...but NO!
WE still remember your handholding with Nancy Pelosi while trying to get that Cap-N-tax abortion passed.
And now you're using the same words as the head Marxist of the United States---probably without even realizing it because you're so used to kegging insider crap without looking and then puking it back up without thinking about what the sh1t smells like.
Just out of curiosity- that bleached blonde you're standing next to- is she #3 or 4?
And did you start with her while you were still married to her predecessor?

UPDATE---
Hi Toni!
It's really nice to see you here :-)
The background is that some cop- somewhere said something about rape victims might want to think about how provocatively they're dressed.
Except that he didn't say it that way and the word slut slipped in. (heh)
Which, naturally gave a reason to those looking for an excuse to
Usually there are some photo blogs that take care of bringing you these picks, but I haven't found them yet, so in the interests of furthering knowledge of important things I give you some protesters. Some of them are kinda NSFW, and others are REALLY NSFW.
Ooops...........how did that end up here?

Do you mean....
That treaty where we PAID for the land that we won?
The one where we made the Mexicans who didn't want to leave ,,,CITIZENS?
Via Ringo's Pictures of the LA May Day march, which if you scroll down- shows Obama has hid own brown-shirts.
...And NO! vato, those warrons came with the paperwork from YOUR government to emigrate. That means vato, that they were LEAGAL. Bendejo.
__BREAKING__2:55PM
Fox just broke to Ft. Campbell,KY. for prez Kickazz's address.
They're singing the Star Spangled Banner now...
The podium is empty, 0bama is probably puking in revulsion at the way those soldiers revere that song.
I just hit mute because that's all I need to hear from Ft. Campbell.
