The Volunteer State just became the police state with their warrant-less trucking inspections at weigh stations.
Yeah, I can understand the idea behind it, and it does make sense.
BUT- yes it's the companies truck they're searching for bombs and such- But it's YOUR house while you're on the road.
AND they emphasis that if you see something suspicious, then call the Bears.
Nope, don't see how someone getting tailgated by some asshole in a Bimmer (but I repeat myself) then getting their front bumper almost taken off when they cut around to get to the off-ramp in front of you..."Ummm, I swear that Blue Bimmer Lic.#xx-xxx with the dark windows had someone flailing in the back seat..."

There sure is a lot of backslapping about Libya
Considering that it was a French led mission- or that's what we were being told...until President KickAzz
decides to ride it into the ground.
NOW- who's going to be responsible for finding those 20,000 some shoulder fired SAM missiles that are on their way somewhere?
But, at least the world is rid of a brutal dictator who pulled in his claws against America after Reagan swatted his nose with a brace of F-111's thirty years ago.
So now what? Are those Muslim extremists going to be all Kum-Ba-ya with Jews and Christians while becoming a Representative democracy that separates religion from politics...just like in Egypt?
Some how I think we'll regret not having a steady dictatorial hand in the Libyan oil fields.

Just wondering about the 'Tour to Nowhere'
Those buses they're using that are decked out better than my house-
What kind of mileage does the Green president get with them? Without all that armor, they only got like 6 MPG. Now that they're up armored and have all the goodies they must get what? 2MPG?
Are they flying those buses to each venue like they did on the first campaign trip?
How is playing golf every weekend at Andrews AFB not getting away from DeeCee- like you talk about on your campaign stops?

Fox newsradio and me
For the last several days I've been hearing an ad about Broadway bank. This ad has a chirpy teller explaining about new bank fees at a generic bank. The only reason this teller couldn't sound more like Sarah Palin is that she doesn't say "You Betcha!" and I"Look, I can see Russia from my house!"
But then what would you expect from a Chicago Democrat with ties to the most ethical administration EVAR (ver. 2.0)
That is I hear it when I don't have WOAI turned off for the top of the hour FoxNewsRadio and their mandatory Chocolate Jeezus soundbite.
Like I have had to do for each hour of the last 34 months they've been adoring their Chicago messiah.

Yummmm- tastes like iguana
...spit.
So, the iguana (Petunia) likes to eat hanging collard greens, but she can't chew the thick stems - which I throw away.
Karen took them out of the garbage and tossed them to the dogs (who were begging).
Meg, the oldest decided she like them and proceeded to eat a good 8" worth of raw collard green stems.
I'm glad she's not sleeping in my room tonight.

Congratulations San Antonio
With your upcoming light rail vote this week, you will officially become a Liberal city.
Yep, for $180 million you'll have TWO whole miles of traffic clogging empty trains going where people don't want to go.
But this does bring you right up into the Liberal sphere of such prosperous cities as Seattle, Chicago, Las Vegas and all other cities that use tax money for those things citizens are clamoring for.
Now that you decided to make San Antonio into a sanctuary city, we'll no longer need to worry about undocumented migrant workers and their offspring conducting unlicensed pharmaceutical transactions, while ever increasing their unregistered social clubs and liberating vehicles from careless owners so they can punish greedy capitalistic endeavors (and their patrons) while enlivening their surroundings with their street art.

AFK
The new "Walking Dead" is starting now on AMC.
Which character are you?
I'm either Dale or T-Dog.
UPDATE-Semi-spoilers
They just ran into a whole interstate jamming pile of stalled cars, and they're almost out of gas. Why not, after the heard of walkers go past- get the DeWalt cordless and empty as many tanks as they can.
Why is Rick driving an old Suburban without A/C so they have to have the windows down?
I've said it before- if I had to kill a Zed by hand, I wouldn't want to wear that contaminated gore any longer than possible. Especially when there's a creek you're following.
If you're trying to sneak up on a tent that you don't know whats in there- maybe you shouldn't stand right in front of the screen door? Especially if your a redneck crossbow hunter, and you should know better.
I think it'll be better that Shane, at least goes his own way.
Rule FOUR! If you can see the deer (with mossy horns) you can see the kid behind it.
WTF are you hunting with ball ammo for?

is it lying, or just the phrase du jur?
I've been looking for an unlocked phone on e-bay, and bought an "unlocked" blackberry flip- which wasn't unlocked because it only worked w/ T-mobile affiliated SIM cards.
I just got another message for an "unlocked' phone that only works on Verizon.
Dear kstevenp,
I honestly do not know anything about Airvoice sim cards and as far as I know these phones work with the Verizon network.
Thanks,
...and it took her almost a week to respond.

Looking at these protesters and their union hacks who joined Obama and his Democrats trying to pull down America.
It's time for another poll.
The results of the last poll were pretty much evenly divided between the people who WANT a voice in the primaries 25 @42% and the usual flood of PaulBots 22 @37% with 17% saying not before April and the rest 5% saying it shouldn't start before March.
As usual, you can still vote, but it won't count.

The running dog Republicans want me to vote for this guy?
Seriously?
SERously?
Here's a clue Mittens. ALL guns are leathal when used to kill. So are CARS!
SERIOUSLY??
Mittons, I don't care if you call it a fee, a service charge or closing a loophole- forcing me to pay the government for something it should be doing already IS. A. TAX!
I know the establishment Republicans want Mitt because he's one of them, but I WILL NOT vote for Mitt Romney!
nothing special here
Just someone who really likes their cat.
Well, adores their cat would probably be better...

To the newsreaders and newsblurb writers
I know you were supposed to graduate from J-school with some kind of English use knowledge.
Here's another tool to put on your belt.
It's called a thesaurus!
It will tell you that there are different words that have the same meaning, or be better suited for the story.
REALLY!
That means you can use words other than "scary" for situations other than sudden life threatening situations.
-When you watch a NASCAR wreck, you can say it's alarming, chilling, horrifying...
-When talking about the Gun Runner fiasco (if you ever get around to it)- you can say alarming, shocking, unnerving, worrisome...
-If there are problems with the school bus, how about troublesome, shocking, alarming...
Just get off the SCARY for anything that's not skittles and leprechauns- OK?

Well, you have to admit. It would be tempting
For an American ex-pat to put one through her window.
Because MEchelle is always at the top of the peons thought process, even if a Royal Naval Man-of-War is saluting a fallen comrade.
Sorry it ruined your S.African vacation there Mooch.

I was looking for something else entirely
When it hit me-
It's October. The beginning of the Federal fiscal year.
Did the Senate, lead by Harry Reid ever introduce their version of a budget?
Unlike the Pelosi House, the Republicans had one months ago.
How many more years before we see a budget Harry?

SILENCE Citizen!
It is verboden to mention the notoriously thin skinned TSA in any but the terms of utmost respect and awe.
Because we have farging REPUBLICANS putting up bills in the House to re-enforce authority of the TSA and JanetReno Napolitano.
UPDATE-
I can't comment on my own blog now?
Who expects JanetReno Napalitanos seriously thin skinned public safety enforcers to "not" go after people making fun of them? Especially when they almost ban a woman from boarding a plane because she has a toy gun on a charm necklace.
It had an assortment of charms on it, one of which was a tiny toy gun, about an inch and a half long.
I kid you not: I was pulled over by a guard when I was at Newark, who was looking at me like I was wearing a cannon around my neck. The next thing I knew I had three security people surrounding me. The only thing going through my head was, “Huh?”
I was being questioned about the bauble, and I tried explaining to a guard that it was a charm and for crying out loud, not a real gun. It’s not like it even had a trigger mechanism that worked. I was dumbfounded.

How can I 'not' post on this?
It's got everything we grew up with- unruly college frats, geeks, jocks, the 'MAN' harshing our mellow...
And the right mood music:
Because no one can understand 'why' college frat houses are burning down in N'awlins.

Why not stop pussyfooting around in your quest for cash?
Anyone with two brain cells to rub together knows it's going to come down to this in your one-upmanship in being first.
Who is going to declare your primary as the second Tuesday in November of 2016?
You may as well give us an entire FOUR YEARS of political infighting, because it's not whats best for the country, as long as you can keep the good conservatives out and make a bundle doing it.
And speaking of East Coast Liberals, who's surprised that Christi decided to back Mittens Romneycare?

Olive Garden and Liberal doublespeak
Ok. So we have an Olive Garden restaurant- which happens to be a member of the Darden restaurant chain.
The same chain that decided that MEchelle Obama should be the one to decide how they serve kids. Decided that a Kiwanis club couldn't display an American flag in their restaurant.
Because it might bother people.
Here is the Barbra Steisand that they tried to use to validate their argument:
We understand and appreciate the way some people have reacted to the situation in Oxford and we're very sorry if this decision has caused them any concern. The Oxford Olive Garden does not have a private dining area. To be fair to everyone and avoid disrupting the dining experience for all other guests, they're unable to accommodate flags or banners of any type in the dining room."
So- in order to not disturb others who were dining...in a common room- they disallowed an American flag, but didn't have a problem with people using a loudspeaker and people clapping.
Because everyone looks forward to hearing about peoples achievements that they don't know- interrupting their overpriced meals.
UPDATE-
Link fixed.

Just out of curiosity
How old are Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi?
Because I think this sign would look more accurate saying this:
Since we're recycling the sixties all over again.
You know, with the drugs and sex and unwashed bodies spouting incoherent ideas with multi-syllableic words that mean nothing.

Further evidence of our collapse as a first world country
In the state that is striving to become the U.K. of the continental U.S.- Kalifornia.....
Wait-a-minute- play this while reading on:
Now that we've got some mood music going...
Jerry Moonbeam has signed into law, prohibiting anyone under the age of 18 from using ultraviolet tanning devices.
That's right, no more tanning beds for minors.
Because it could be bad for them.
But no restrictions on as many abortions as they want.
But, hey lets not mention the original way to get a tan...except that it's 'hot out there' and like- free. So now we'll be seeing pasty-white teens because Big Brother took their tanning beds away.
Boy, that almost sounds like another B.B. song, doesn't it?

Just mentioning in passing-
For the first time in about eight months, we got good rain.
Why, yes- we DO have dogs that have worn the entire (what could have been) lawn away!
The debris dam pushing the fence over.

Now that the dust has pretty much settled
On the ESPN/ Bocephus do-up, and that I don't have a dog in that fight because I don't even have ESPN programmed into the tee wee -I'd like to add y two cents.
What hank should have done, just like a lot of Republicans should do- is bring up the non-appology they accepted from a lefty and tell them to act like he said that.
In the case of Hank, he should have brought up Mike Tysons raping Palin B.S. and they non-apology that went on afterwords...AND the fact that it was all forgotten about until he brought it back up. "So ESPN wants an apology for me referencing Hitler and Obama? Fine, you'll get it right after I hear you condemn Iron Mike."
But that won't happen because Republicans are too polite to fight like Democrats.

As long as we're throwing numbers around
I found the number that really means something to us (no, it's not 42) who are the ones tired of being lectured to by a bunch of over-educated unemployed socialists... who pulled a number out of their collective asses to be what they want to be called.
I am a 53 percenter!
Meet The 53%. Who are they? The term 53% refers to the people who are actually paying taxes for themselves and the rest of the country.
The 53% is a group of responsible young people organizing across the country. However, this group is not camping out in parks around the country and demanding the entire capitalist system be destroyed.

I've held many jobs in my life
Some of them were as safety sensitive as keeping miles of natural gas line from blowing up buildings to using a shovel to find a leaking sewer line.
BUT in any of those jobs, if I had been as clueless as our US AG Eric Holder, I would have been fired many times over.
Holder says that his testimony to Congress, stating he first heard of Fast and Furious earlier this year, “was truthful and accurate… I have no recollection of knowing about Fast and Furious prior to the public controversy about it.”
~snip~
However, in the letter, Holder says Grindler “was not told of the unacceptable tactics employed in the operation in his regular monthly meetings with ATF…”
“I now understand some senior officials within the Department were aware at the time there was an operation called Fast and Furious although they were not advised of the unacceptable operational tactics being used in it,” says Holder’s letter.
BUT- it's all the Republicans fault for bringing it up anyway...
Holder blamed Congress for failing to consider whether “additional tools are needed to stem the flow of guns to Mexico” and warned “until we move beyond the current political climate..nothing is going to change.”
