An AR refresher fo y'all

 Because I couldn't remember how to zero an AR/M-16 after 30 years.

I remember having to go from one side of the rear site and count how many clicks to center and thought I remembered having to bottom the front site....

Guess you forget things.
But I remember (and why I was looking for the carrying handle) that when you get it sited at 50 MTRs, you're good for 100, 200 and 300 with just a flip of the back site.

What a complete load of crap.

 But, then it IS CNN.
Mumbles 0biden says he's wanting to use the National Guard to move cargo.
The WH says they haven't even considered it.

Even if they would- like NY is using NG for their healthcare problem-, most would come from somewhere in the transport industry itself. taking drivers off the road to replace drivers. Typical Leftist shortsightedness.  BUT WE'RE DOING SOMPIN!

The supply chain isn't really hurting, it's just denting Americans views on the economy..........

 I think I got both the blade tensioner and tracking figured out.

Got both wheels parallel with the bed.

Now I have to wait to make the blade guides because Kurt was a dumbass and didn't notice when he odrered them that they came from fucking China....

Experiments in dehydration -part 1

 So the wife finally decided that I wasn't stupid to be getting more food than we'd use in about two weeks.
-So she bought a used dehydrator.

Her first go was mushrooms which seem to have turned out well.
Then she went to strawberrys........ which- we'll see. They're stuck to the screen right now waiting for her to process them.

I cannot find canned fire roasted tomatoes, so I thought I'd give it a try.
I sliced Roma tomatoes about a quarter inch thick (more or less) and put the first batch on a tin foils sheet on a pan. I figured at least it would save some clean up.
I use broil on high for 17 minutes, and the pan/sheet about the middle shelf.
Then it tried turning them over for another five minutes.

I got them out and the really thin ones were burnt to the foil.
After putting them on the drying rack I did the next batch (5 Romas to fill a baking sheet)

This time I crumpled the foil and used the back (clean) side for the same times.

When I pulled them out, all I did was stretch the foil and almost all fell right onto the drying rack.

WIN!

Now we'll see what happens in about seven hours.

AAR New Braunfels gun show

 Wife wanted to go, so we went.
I'm kinda surprised that my knee held up so well.

Saw a lot of EBRs.
I was kinda looking for a .357 in something like a Marlin flavor -but not Rossi, I've seen too many problems with them.
I was also kinda looking for an old AR with a carrying handle - which are like unicorns.

Then the wife wanted something to drink and as we were passing another table ----- I saw it 

An old AR I guess pre A-2 model with the slab sides and full 22" barrel with triangle guard.
He wanted $1300 for it.
So I passed- I couldn't convince myself to pay that much- again.

After sitting and the wife saying "I'm not telling you to buy it, but when you're ready- it's only going to be more expensive.
Plus I remembered the extra thousand I had from selling stocks when 0biden was finally installed, so...

We got to the booth again and someone had just bought it.

But I didn't walk away empty handed.
.............And the FBI was not called

You had to know this was coming, right?

I told my boss something yesterday

 Ten years ago, and probably as late as five years ago- nobody probably would have even thought the words would come out of anyone's mouth.

"I had to reboot the truck twice yesterday to get the pumps to work."

Different takes on happenings

 I was listening to two different talk shows at work yesterday (and this morning- I guess....same workday) and each had it's own take on what the Democrats are doing.

The first one is a local host- Jack Riccardi on KTSA (and sounds a lot different than he looks)
Who thinks that the way the Democrat leadership (Pelosi, Schumer,,,Duckworth....) are acting not worried at all about how their support is completely crumbling because of the meat pupped 0biden's actions show something bigger is going on.
Pelosi and Schumer owe their cushy jobs to staying in power, and neither one seems to want to do anything to stop the slide.

The other hand has Redeye radio with the two hosts Gary McNamera and Eric Harley (who also look a lot different than they sound).

Who both think the Democrats are running scared because of the problems whoever is running 0biden is causing. They think Democrats know what's coming and are trying to get whatever they can of their anti-American agenda through before they're all out of power.

I don't know sometimes I think they're to crafty to get into trouble -because they're the party of lies and deceit and knifing an ally in the back- by creating such (on the surface) self owns and someone deep behind he scenes has it all planned out for them to win at whatever they're playing for.

Another part can't understand WHY they're letting this go on- why Pelosi isn't screaming at whoever is controlling 0biden to stop fucking up her  agenda.

Taking place in a TV studio in the North Woods, the proposed series featured a cast of eccentrics such as newsman Oski Bear and two minor characters named Rocky the Flying Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose, described in the script treatment as a "French-Canadian moose."

Premiering on ABC in 1959 (and moving to NBC two years later), "The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends" contained a mix of sophisticated and low-brow humor. Thanks to Ward's genial partner Bill Scott (who contributed to the scripts and voiced Bullwinkle and other characters) and their writers, puns were used often and shamelessly: in a "Fractured Fairy Tales" featuring Little Jack Horner, upon pulling out the plum, Jack announced, "Lord, what foods these morsels be!" Self-referential humor was another trademark: in one episode, the breathless announcer (William Conrad) gave away the villain's plans, prompting the villain to grab the announcer from offscreen, bind and gag him, and deposit him visibly within the scene. The show skewered popular culture, taking on such subjects as advertising, college sports, the Cold War, and TV itself. In a running-joke tribute to Ward, many of his cartoon characters had the middle initial "J.", presumably standing for "Jay" (although this was never stated explicitly). The cartoonist Matt Groening later gave the middle initial "J." to many of his characters as a tribute to Ward.

Ward fought many heated battles over content with the network and sponsor. The "Kirward Derby", a bowler hat that made everyone stupid and Bullwinkle a genius, was named (as a spoonerism) for Durward Kirby, sidekick of the 1950s and 1960s TV host Garry Moore and the co-host of Allen Funt's "Candid Camera." When Kirby threatened to sue, Ward quipped, "Please do! We need the publicity!"

An eccentric and proud of it, Ward was known for pulling an unusual publicity stunt that coincided with a national crisis. Ward bought an island in Minnesota near his home and dubbed it "Moosylvania," based upon the home of his Bullwinkle TV character. He and publicist Howard Brandy crossed the country in a van, gathering signatures on a petition for statehood for Moosylvania. They then visited Washington, D.C., and attempted to gain an audience with President John F. Kennedy.
