I was going to do this after I first heard about what happened in Boston, but didn't want to go there, but the Liberals at Salon gave me the ok.
Whoever did the Boston attack probably had more love for
or
rather than-
BUT the Lamestreem Media will want to blame:

Hunters, your next
You said "you don't need an AR or AK for hunting. They'll never come after my hunting guns."
Guess what?

Why yes, San Antonio is run by Democrats
and so is Bexar County.
Which is why along with a light rail system (that's unfunded and unpopular) we just got a pre-pre-K city run school which just got voted a .25% sales tax (against popular notions also).
Now, the brain trust that keeps getting voted back into office has decided to create a BOOKLESS Library.
And no-one has mentioned a problem with spending money on funding something that you have to actually travel to....to do what you're doing on line right now--reading off a computer in the comfort of your own home, office or smart device.
Oh, and nowhere I could find tells how it's financed...

So, it wasn't "The Little People"?
That made the door in that San Fran Elm tree.
It was actual boat people, and they came forward to take credit.
Knowing the eco-nuts in San Fransisco, I'd bet they'll be up on charges of some kind soon.
Not that I'm surprised that it was people that did it, what made me post about this is the authors complete lack of ...umm.... giving regular people credit for something I hope any of my readers could do in about 5 minutes with a jig-saw or band saw--
Tony is a skilled craftsman with the chops necessary to shape and carve wood, the blog reported.
F'ing seriously?
How hard does Chris Roberts think hacking a chunk of waste wood into a vaguely lopsided triangle is?

Fourteen people?
And we don't hear anything from the president who says we need to impose reasonable restrictions on law abiding citizens for guns.
I think we need to have a dialogue about the reasonable restrictions on military style assault knives!

I just got done shopping at Wally-world
The most expensive thing I got was a $19 co-pay for BP meds.
I walked out with four bags and spent almost $100.
Thanks Barry- I f&cking appreciate the way you're taking care of business.
When you're not taking some hugely expensive vacation somewhere expensive on my Dime.
Oh, and I'm not shopping for a family of four anymore, just me and the wife...

Just work stuff
Firstly.
Do I work for a great company or what?
They knew my birthday was coming up, so they bought me a ...TOY!
Yep, that's about half the size and 2/3 of the tires I'm used to using.
When you have three people that are either Journeymen, foremen or ex-foremen- the super is pleasantly surprised when everyone working on electric switchgear has their own tools for the job. He was kind hurt that we didn't want to use the company tools....

The more there is, the less it's worth
And we see that in the ever increasing demand for degrees in what used to be HS diploma jobs.
The more Big Education pushes college degrees, the more watered down degrees are out there for people who can't do HS Senior work, so now to make a demand for those worthless degrees- even McDonalds is starting to require bachelors degrees for being a farging cashier.

TEOTWAWKI and pets
I've been looking at different sites for ideas if or when this whole thing goes pear shaped.
I see a lot of different scenarios, but most gloss over the whole *what do you do with your pet* thing.
We have two cats and two dogs. One dog tries to be a dog, but the other is just a fur footrest.
I could see living with them if we had enough food and water and we stayed in one place, but the dilemma is when we might have to move on foot. One cat is savvy enough that she'd be able to keep up and out of trouble- the other one is a house Tribble.
I'd be tempted to throw down a steak for the dogs and end it for them while they're doing their favorite thing.
On the other hand, should we force them to get lost (maybe) and live through the starving times in the hope that something better will come along? I don't think any of them except the cat could catch their own food, or stay out of trouble if walking free.
Any ideas, or just something for you to think about later....

A blast from the past
Guess who?
hello friends,
Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.
What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.
Here is the questions. The duct tape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.
UPDATE-

Happy yeasties
I made two packs of champagne yeasts very happy tonite.
I'm experimenting again.
1 gal. apple cider
1 gal. apple jiuce
Each one got
1c. dark brown sugar
1/2 c Lite brown sugar (Because I had two partial bags)
1 Pk wine yeast.
AND three pics that I forgot to set the auto-focus ...
You'll notice you get slightly more cider (which is probably made up for the pieces in it)
Happy yeasties waking up and ready to make more happy little yeasties :-)
Take care of yourselves for the next two weeks...

In not news today
We have the admission of CNN that they quit even trying to be a news organization with their newest show- the "Kathy and Anderson Show".
Plus, someone needs to tell Lurch that it's bad for his brain to be putting too much stress on a body that has so many Purple Heart awards.
But, then again- he does seem to know more about a European game than an American one...

The Governor's a real bad-ass isn't he?
Kicking ass on zombies that would take down a normal person and kicking ass on un-dammaged people.
Must have been a real pillar of something before the Zombieclypse.
I kinda feel bad for Daryl, having to finish off Merle and all... but the world's a better place
without him.
And--WTF is with the History channel and that stupid "Vikings" BS? Seriously? A crappy, badly written soap that I couldn't stand to watch more that ten minutes of???
I hope they didn't pay too much for the writers, costumers (plywood shields??) or actors for this thing.

For any of you with Netflix
and those that remember the old BBC of the `80s (or 170s maybe).
Who remember watching the TeeWee adaptation of "All creatures great and Small"
Helen was kinda hot- in an entirely natural way....
