So I was on the way to Corpus Christi yesterday

And saw something odd on the trailer in front of me.
Wasn't sure why that backhoe looked.............. off.

Then I got closer and saw why it looked so bad.

    1. They're using 2,000 pound rated straps on a 7 ton machine.

    2. At least they're nice and loose. I would have held my breath passing it.

  3. That jerk is one sharp turn of the wheel, stomp of the brake, or bump in the road from killing somone.

  4. Chains, with ratchet binders are demanded for such loads. Even then, if the binders are not tight enough, a rubber tire machine will bounce, and can fall off the side.

  5. He's got a lot of weight behind the trailer axles, too - I think I'd have raised the bucket and rested it on the gooseneck to allow the whole load to be moved forward.

    1. The weight is about right.
You don't want to make it too tongue heavy because it affects steering.
