Hot in Texas

It was so hot in Eagle Pass that it broke the truck thermometer.

It was the first time I got to make deliveries out west since 0biden lied about supporting the Constitution...
Things I noticed.

The Border Patrol is no longer doing tire drags to keep a vegetation free area along fence lines.
I guess when 0biden or Mayorkas is going to tell you to let them go, why waste gas pulling a tractor tire along fence lines.

The BP checkpoint is basically waving people through- because why bother asking questions if it doesn't matter.

The only diesel prices I saw over $5/gal was at Pilot. Everything else was $4.99 -$4.45 -almost equal to gasoline.

Doo, Doo, Doo

 Looking out my back door...

Actually it was my kitchen window.
I could have probably hit her with a pistol if I was a poacher.

This place is turning into a regular Noah's ark.
This was about two hours after the deer video,

There were about 10-15 of them working their way up towards the water trough before the neighbor girls scared them off when they started to work their horses.

I was just heading in to get a rifle, too.

Saw an old '94-96 Bronco

Those full sized Broncos still look good today.
Better than the fugly-assed '97 F-150 that put me off of owning a Ford to this day.

For the fuk-sake TXDOT

Can't you finish one section of I-10 before making another three mile stretch a work zone?

They extended tho work zone east another three miles almost to the race track by Marion.
That's 4.5 miles from where I get on to go to work in San Antonio (I clocked it last night)

By next winter, the entire stretch from Seguin to 410 in San Antonio is going to be Jersey walls and slow traffic- with the occasional pop-up lane closures until I retire in about five years.

'Normal' FBI agents are troubled at the direction it's headed

It's been headed that way for years, even before Orangemanbad.
These same 'troubled' agents will keep working to further however far the Leftist apparatchik leaders want to take it.

Unlike Socialist bureaucrats who would work to put sand in the gears of anything they disapprove of.

Everyone's talking about R.v.W-

The Left is losing their shit and the right is talking about what the left is screeching about.

What I haven't heard either side mention is the free birth control 0bamaKare forced insurance companies to supply.

Apparently I've been doing it wrong

I was trying to fire roast (in a gas oven- broiler) fresh red peppers and tomatoes.

I guess I need to dry them, then roast them.

It seems to work here for them.

I had to make deliveries in Corpus Christi last night

If you've never been there, you really don't need to make plans to go.

Corpus is like your trashy aunt and no matter where she goes or what she wears, trash will always show through.

AND I had to spend an extra half hour there in the port area because they're completely redoing the highway and surface roads for the new bridge over the Laguna Madre because of detours and closed ramps.

This tells you everything you need to know about Corpus in one sign.....

And that wasn't even in a bad part of town.

Democrats are just embracing Orwell

We have communist race theory where all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others.
Now Mayorkas has decided to form their version of the Ministry of Truth.

His top Bureaucrat in that position- Nina Jankowicz -is a BIG Never-Trumper who was out flogging both the laughably fake Steele dossier and the 'Hunters emails are Russian hoax' lies.

Even the lefties at MSN noticed.

Why would anyone with options want to be a cop in Chicago?

Or any other Liberal city that wants them gone?

Now Chi-town is trying to con Marines who are getting out to make that mistake.
Between the defunding, scapegoating, and just anti-cop attitude- why would anyone want that? The youngest asked me once what a self fulfilling prophesy was and I never thought it would be the PD.

You have the Left going after cops money and the DA's and City Board members attacking cops for everything they do.
The press jumps on anything and lies about how bad the cops are and what kind of lawless thugs they are.....
So the good ones find a new department in a Red city where they don't have to put up with the shit and the bad ones- racists, sadists, bullies, abusers..... All stay because they either like doing it or can't find something else. Then the city can't find good cops and the bad ones keep doing what they can get away with, the pols and press keep dumping on them and the only new cops they can hire are as bad- or worse than the bad cops they already have.

So I went to order a Henry

I went to three different merchants of death.

The Henry site has three dealers in the Seguin area, two of them are closed for good.
Of the two that weren't affiliates- both said Henry's are hard to lay hands on, no matter what model and caliber.

I went to the other affiliate halfway to New Braunfels and asked. They had me fill out a request form and told me it could be as long as a year before I saw mine.

So I went to gunbroker and bid on this one with the same MSRP as one on their site.
Of course I'll probably have to spend close to another $100 for shipping and transfer fees.

So I have an old Win '94 30-30

I went looking for ammo a while ago so I could finish sighting it in.

I bought it cheap-ish with a ghost ring site and started sighting it in, then something came up and it sat in the corner of the mud room for about three years.

After I decided to finally get it sighted in, I went looking for cheap (okay- less expensive) ammo.

JEZUS KEERIST!

Okay, we'll look at plan B- see what I can get for it ......
$200- $250......
I was bitching about it on a local FB page and started getting offers on it, but I had to start my 4- 14 hr shift the next day.

FB pulled it about three days in for selling fire arms. At least I didn't go to the restricted barracks this time.

SO......
I guess I could sell for $200 and use that to defray the cost of a Henry steel Big Boy in .357- which I have plenty of because of the two revolvers in that caliber plus the wife and her .38+P.

The only thing I don't like about Henry's (and it's probably a million to one chance I'd ever encounter this problem) is that after it gets pulled from the mag- it's free floating until it's shoved into the chamber.

If it ever comes to that, I'll be using the one the .GOV doesn't know I have.

Chambered in a completely different round.
