Apparently I've been doing it wrong

 I was trying to fire roast (in a gas oven- broiler) fresh red peppers and tomatoes.

I guess I need to dry them, then roast them.

It seems to work here for them.


  1. Put 'em on the (cold) grill and hit them with a garden weed burner. You can blister the skins and cook the peppers pretty quick. Experiment with a few to get the hang of it, then go to town. I can do 40# in about as many minutes. Toss each batch into a heavy duty trash bag while they're hot and close it up to let them steam awhile The skins just slide right off. Stem, seed, rinse and bag for the freezer.
