Yep, Tom Delay stepped down as House Leader today.
The Democratic attack machinery is in fine repair when it comes to hounding Republicans out of leadership positions. What's that make now? Four? Five?

Any time there's a question- a hint of not being 110% above board ethically, the same ol' lynch mob starts baying.

Then, we have the Democrats who if the story gets out in spite of the Legacy Media- you'd go deaf from the silence. These self-same paragons of finger pointing morality give the truth to the expression "It takes one to know one." In spades.

I have to admit that I'll be glad to get the Bush presidency behind us. Let the open wounds heal.
I just wish the Anti-Bush lunatics would quit ripping open the scabs every time they breath.
Abe Lincoln was treated the same way in his time. Gawd how it must grate on the Moonbats to even THINK of the possibility that Bu$Halburton=Hitler could even come close to Lincoln.

I know they keep pointing to the Clinton Era and how he was (mis)treated by the "Vast Rightwing Conspiracy"- but I don't remember Republican polititians Demanding he step down for every mis-step made (or made-up) in his administration. Sure, He went through an Impeachment hearing- for LYING UNDER OATH. It's called perjury. He should have known the consequences, he's the lawyer- I'm not, and I know I'd go to jail for lying under oath.

But that's the difference between Liberals and Conservatives/Republicans isn't it?
One gets a free pass and all their buddies tripping over themselves in order to praise and protect the (alleged) wrongdoer; and the other side tripping over themselves to kick their ex-leader/friend/political ally when their down.

Down here, in the last two days- or so, gas has gone up between a dime and 20 cents/gal. I heard THIS increase was oil speculators.

It doesn't matter, we shouldn't be at the mercy of anyone except our own "Big Oil". Not those camel humpers in the mid-est, not the neo-commies in South America, not the speculators on the floor of the stock market. And for sure not at the tender mercies of those eco-Nazis that want us to melt down every internal combustion engine in America to make bicycles.

IÂ’m not sure if you know that in the past two days (as I write this) gas prices have risen between 9 cents and 20 cents per gallon out here in middle America. IÂ’d really like to thank you for letting the Democrats and their Eco-Nazis set our energy policy.
If you and the rest of the Republicans would ACT like youÂ’ve been in power for the last five years, we wouldnÂ’t be at the mercy of oil speculators, hurricanes and other factors in energy price spikes.
I fully expect you (the party) to cave in to every Liberal Democratic temper-tantrum that they want to throw–interestsintrests of “Bi-Partisanship”. After all, if you started acting like the Majority party, then the News Media would say bad things about you- that’s OK, they didn’t vote for you- and never will.
I voted for you, and a lot of people feel that youÂ’ve left us standing here all by ourselves in your quest for more votes. We didnÂ’t move to the right, we sat here and watched you drift to the left.
Again, thank you for letting the Democrats run policy up in DC, IÂ’m sure IÂ’m not the only one whoÂ’ll remember why weÂ’re standing here on the right all by ourselves. IÂ’m just wondering, how high are you going to let fuel prices rise before you get the backbone to try to force the issue?

Well, we're going to the Saxet gun show this weekend

I've been trying to find out if the anti-gun Nazis have made background checks mandatory at gun shows in Texas. I can't find it by searching. I can find alot of cr@p from about 2002, but nothing telling me if I have to make the trip the next day to pick up the gun.

Cr@p, all I want is to walk out with a revolver. A .22 revolver that the neighbor's think is a pellet gun. Anyone with common sense knows that most crimes are committed by criminals with (somekind) of illegal weapon, anyway. Thanks alot you woosy 'fraidycats who would rather see your kids grow-up without morals or consciences than see them learn self control by having to hold back any kind of impulse.

See, REAL assault weapons HAVE been banned (exept for special licences) since about the '30s. No public citizen can own or fire a fully automatic weapon without the gov't approving it. These so-called "Assault Weapons" are ugly semi-automatics. You can do as much harm with a semi-automatic that doesn't fit the decription of "Assault Weapon" as you can with one of those ulgly ones that do fit the description.

So, what's the difference? One type is "scarier" than the other.

I din't find anything impelling enough to post about yesterday, and today isn't much better.

I tried searching for some information on the way Mexico treats their own Illegal immigrant problem on their southern border. All I could find was one position type paper and one blog- neither had links to any really concrete evidence. I DID- however find pages of search results on how (badly)we treat the few illegals we actually arrest.
I guess that's a post for someone why has the time and ability to dig for facts.

Wife and I were off yesterday, we went to San Antonio to spend some more money. I wanted to stop at a gun shop to price a .22 revolver but they were closed, so we stopped into Sportsman's Warehouseto see how some fitted her hand. That's ALL we did- I'm not going to pay almost $300 for a .22 revolver -plus tax. We did find out that the one that's comfortable for her hand is a little too small for me. I did like the Academys prices, but just thought that this hoglegporkchop was a little too long at 9" worth of barrel for backyard shooting (it was the only one they had in the showcase).

The 14 yr old 15 in Feb year-old liked the ChexMix so well that she made some for herself last night. I supervised from the computer. She did well. I hope she decides to be the next Racheal Rae , that way she can be "famous" an not be living on the left coast with all those Cali crackpots.

When she's giving her weekly radio address about the Federal budget.

Can you believe that we BOTH think the budget should be redone?
Listen to what she's got to say:

"Today as Americans are making New Year's resolutions, our Democratic New Year's resolution is to renew America's promise," the California congresswoman said.

A budget that addresses issues such as health care and education would create a better future for the American people, she said, but the current Republican spending plan fails to do so.

"The federal budget should be a statement of our national values," Pelosi said. "Sadly, the Republican budget fails that test."

How can we disagree with that? We should be rethinking what kind of message we're sending when we throw half our budget away on entitlement programs. Not to mention the fact that we're going to be spending only gawd-knows how much on Bush's flood of Federal perscription votemongering. We need to address healthcare and education! We need to get the lawers and unions out of them both. Lets stop shovelling money into a bottomless pit that's gaining exactly Jack-chit in efficiency.

I agree that the budget should be a statment of our values. We need to quit kissing @ss on everyone who has their hand out as a gimmie vote.


Now, though I have to stop myself from giving her a swirly when she hypocritically brings the religious right into her diatribe.

Now, scientists have found the elusive Dodo graveyard down in Mauritius.

No complete skeleton has ever been found in Mauritius, and the last full set of bones was destroyed in a fire at a museum in Oxford, England, in 1755.

Researchers believe the bones are at least 2,000 years old, and hope to learn more about how dodos lived

The discovery was hailed as a breakthrough in the Netherlands.

"This new find will allow for the first scientific research into and reconstruction of the world in which the dodo lived, before western man landed on Mauritius and wiped out the species," the country's Natural History Museum announced in a statement.

As a parent AND someone with a bit of common sense, I'm wondering exactly how he got away with it?

First question (not the first that popped into my mind-but): it costs $3,416 for a round trip ticked from Fla. to Kuwait. Where did he get the money? It's obvious that his parents are loaded, but still a $3,000+ credit card limit -for a 16year-old???

Second: Why didn't anyone tell the parents?
Skipping a week of school, he left the country on Dec. 11, telling only two high school friends of his plans. His travels took him to Kuwait and Lebanon before he arrived in Iraq on Christmas Day. He left without telling his family and sent an e-mail after his departure, Atiya said.

The teen traveled to Kuwait, where a taxi dropped him in the desert at the Iraq border, but he could not cross there because of tightened security ahead of the Iraqi parliamentary elections on Dec. 15. Well, now that they have- my first prediction of the year will be that the Legacy Media and it's hangers-on will be wailing about the WITCH HUNT about to take place.

He was in an odd mood Sunday night. We planned to meet at a bar for a drink. I spent the afternoon shopping with the girls and I thought it might have been my fault because I was a bit later than I promised, but he didn't say anything much about it. The conversation was very slow going so I thought we should go off somewhere more intimate so we could talk more privately. We went to this restaurant and he was STILL acting a bit funny. I tried to cheer him up and started to wonder whether it was me or something else. I asked him, and he said no. But I wasn't really sure. So anyway, in the car on the way back home, I said that I loved him deeply and he just put his arm around me. I didn't know what the hell that meant because you know he didn't say it back or anything. We finally got back home and I was wondering if he was going to leave me! So I tried to get him to talk but he just switched on the TV. Reluctantly, I said I was going to go to bed. Then after about 10 minutes, he joined me and to my surprise, we made love. But, he still seemed really distracted, so afterwards I just wanted to confront him but I just cried myself to sleep. I just don't know what to do anymore. I mean, I really think he's seeing someone else.

The computer is working alot better since I uninstalled the newest Adobe upgrade- and the photoshop trial that came with it. I was suspicious when the clan Singh took over my computer to install the newest Adobe. I also uninstalled Quicktime, which got installed about the same time the computer went south.

The Presario is getting fixed, and I'm stealing the 14-yr-olds *new*(e-bay) computer until I get mine back. He's going to charge $45 to solder a lead to the motherboard and leave a flex connection out of where the old pre-engineered breaking point power socket used to be in the case.

Did you read about the House only extending the Homeland security bill by ONE f*cking month?
I thought the Republicans were the majority party- supposedly in charge of both the house and Senate.

Why are they letting the Democrats run all over them? I know, they wanted to go home and *koff* take their voters concern to heart *snortle*. Will someone give me a reason to vote for any party anymore? I mean the Republicans are just as feckless and spendthrift as Democrats have been seen historically. The Democrats are now so far to the left, that one slip will send them solidly into the Communist camp- instead of flirting with Socialists.

The Democrats are setting the agenda, and deciding everything that matters to the future of America. Anybody remember this last summer? Hurricanes out the @ss, broken pipelines and refineries- and WHO decided to keep everything the way it was after they pissed all over Bush?

Yeah, I'm on the oil thing- I drive 102 mi. a day.

Next time gas hits $3/gal you can thank

Not to mention the Fla. Congressional delegation for putting the kibosh on unsightly drilling rigs so far off the coast that you can hardly see them.

Miscellaneous B.S.

I missed the test this morning, got a late start due to the Mazdas' newly discovered thirst for motor oil ( the rear main seal- it looks like). After I found a quart of 40wt. I hit every read light between here and San Antonio. By the time I got to the N.E. side of S.A. it was already 8AM, it would have taken another 60-90 min to get where I had to be. So, instead of a wasted 100= mi. round trip, I didn't even call to cancell (the confirmation mail didn't have a phone number for the test center). Well, I can't take the ATS screener test for another 185 days.

I'm still waiting on the title for the Mazda- he keeps telling me the "title's in the mail"- I'm wondering if I saw the right title when I have him the check. Guess I'll wander down to the P.D. to see who actually owns it.

Vonage is working again, it had a fit this weekend, may have been the computer- That stopped connecting this morning about 6:30AM, and may have a virus that is VERY well hidden.
The Wildblue rep was out just now, my power is on the low side. He did some resets and I can access AlGores Internet, now- again.
He thinks I might have a hidden virus, too, but he didn't want to start deleting things- I understand but it's working alot better now. It's working alot better than that last sentence, anyway.

The laptop finally lost it's charging ability Sun. It seems the pin going into the charging dohikey breaks off alot. Wifes boss's son-in-law will fix mine better than new for $45.

I just got done installing wifes Christmas present, a new ceiling fan/light with remote. I would have gone with the regular wired one, but the remote controlls the fan speed AND light settings with the 2 wire existing wireing.

So everyone is having kittens about Bush OKing the SPYING on PRIVATE PHONECALLS of suspected trerrorists, huh? I guess it doesn't matter that he went to the Senate and House intelligence committies and BOTH of them signed off on it (them?) including the DEMOCRATS who are strangly silent on defending the way Bush went through channels.
- - - And speaking of spying on americans, has anyone ever found out who hired Craig Livingstone?

I was listening to a guy on WOAI last night outraged about the illegals situation- he wanted Bush to do something. He said that if it were proved that the next attack (by moslem terrorists) came via Mexico- THEN the border would be shut. -Sorry guy, Bush has too much invested politically, and business wize to stop the illegals.

So where do I go around the Castroville/Hondo area to agitate help get Kinky on the ballot? I guess a link here would help.

Long day yesterday

We were supposed to take down some light "poles" and haul them to the salvage yard.
It turns out that these light poles were 150' light towers for a High School football field. There's now ay our 45' boom truck would even think about doing anything but causing trouble- so we waited for a crane.

When they finally got there -the replacement rigger was either mentally damaged, or fried from too much crank- and pretty well clueless. Well, he's getting paid to do the high work, we're here to, ummm, cut anchor bolts- ummm - and watch.
It took about 2 hours to get the first one down and about an hour for the rest- except the 2nd to the last. It was in a pretty well inaccessible location, and tight up against the stadium wall.
When we finally got it on the ground- it tried to collapse.

The last one was a piece of cake, cut 12 -1" bolts and swing it down- which was good because it was frikin' dark were we were then.
Got back to the yard at 8:30PM and home about 9:40PM.

13 1/2 hours, which helps because I'm off today taking a Civil Service test for an airline security screener. Hey- it's cool in the summer, warm in the winter and- - - DRY!
