That's because you didn't think it through
as usual. That's why you're always surprised by what you call 'unexpected consequence' and the rest of us call a logical progression.
That's exactly what happened in Seattle when they decided to green-up to help Gaea.
The rain gardens installed by the city last summer and fall haven’t worked as planned.
Instead of solving problems, they have created new ones.
The gardens, which look sort of like shallow, sparsely planted ditches running between the road and sidewalk, fill with water – and stay filled. Some of the rain gardens drain over the course of hours or days, but some become miniponds until the city comes to pump them out.
Now the financially pressed city will have to spend $500,000 to fix the rain gardens. And after the fixes, the gardens will do less of what they were designed to do: keep runoff from sewers to prevent overflows.
Instead of getting real engineers in that understood hydraulic flow- they got artist and landscape designers to put these pre-swamps in, so instead of a slow drain through filtering rock, they did whatever they did.
Now most of these fancy bar ditches are mosquito breeding quagmires.
But they have a solution! Yey!
After they spend double the money to redo those 'rain gardens' they'll plan on replanting them...
The sloping ditches are planted with red-twig dogwood and huckleberry bushes, grasses and sedges – all plants that don’t mind soggy soil. The rainwater soaks into the ground rather than flowing into the city’s stormwater or sewer system.
Instead of planting trees that are soggy soil tolerant, here in Texas we have plenty of Mountain Ceders we'll GIVE you. The beauty of these trees is that they actually suck up water.
But we don't expect you to take us up because, you know, that might actually work.

The first time I heard it, I was like all WTF???
If you had Zero air pollution, we'd all be dead. Oxygen is a powerful ,,,oxidant- it eats things. CO2 is a buffer gas, like Nitrogen and plants NEED CO2 to produce oxygen. Without air pollution we'd be- the moon.
And that zero dependence on foreign oil will never happen as long as your buddy in the White House keeps banning us from using our own oil.
...Even IF we could fuel with some exotic fuel that cost pennies, we'd still need it to produce PLASTIC!
Zero percent gas, 100 percent electric.
Where is this majik electricity going to come from? 0bamas Unicorns are about used up, and skittles use corn sugar that is used to make the ethanol that the lobbyist from BIG AG got Congress to mandate and then PAY for.

Demands?

Last year we were told that GM (why is everyone so quiet on Chrysler?) was going to repay $8 billion of the loan early! Yay! But it turned out they used stimulus funds for that. Yay---what?
Then we had that well heralded and awesomely coordinated IPO of the 'New" GM stocks. Yay!
That sold for less than needed to break even. Huh?
Because investors saw what happened to the original owners of the now union owned stock.
But, that's ok, really- because we'll sell the rest of that stock during the summer, because the stock now is worth HALF of what it needs to be to break even.
But that's ok, stocks took a 200 point hit yesterday on that S&P announcement of negative credit ratings- what could go wrong in the next couple months with more bad news on the debt front.
Lets sell those stocks anyway- it's only taxpayer monopoly money.

Remember that rant I went on about gun sellers not providing info?
It was back in this post about the Beretta 1873 lever action .357.
I wqs under the assumption that it was a new rifle, but Beretta/Pietta/Cimarron put it out back in 2005.
The only review I've seen was from 'The high road' site, and now, I can't even bring it up. ahh, here it is,, but in .45.
But I want one. It's got the old half cock hammer safety and the (forerunner to JMBs Squeeze handle safety) squeeze the handle to fire old time firing arrangement.
So I don't have to worry about the Pumas annoying safety reset and all the other B.S. of lawyerly luuv.
I wonder what was wrong with them, since they seemed to be made well and weren't really overpriced (in the field).

I want to thank the Democrat party
especially Harry, Nancy and Barry and their two years of complete mismanagement and screwing us taxpayers.
They left off that taxable exemption for the first $2500 of unemployment benefits that were part of Bush's taxbreaks for the wealthy they are h8ting.
So, because of that, my taxes went up by $645.

They left off that taxable exemption for the first $2500 of unemployment benefits that were part of Bush's taxbreaks for the wealthy they are h8ting.
So, because of that, my taxes went up by $645.

from the last election. I mean it almost looked like we did something, however small about starting to start slowing the money hemorrhage.
No matter what those Washington insiders like that fucking ASSHOLE Pete Meachum says about that 0.00000001% they cut from the debt, it was still too small.
Now, I wonder are the Republicans going to roll over for Tim Geithner's raising the budget ceiling? Tax cheat Tim says it's already in the bag. Maybe, is that why our first negro decided that it was safe to come out slamming everything not Liberal in his last teleprompter reading?
That Republicans have no balls to stand up to these Chicago mobsters?
Why not vote to just remove the ceiling? Nobody but some mind blown hippie thinks it matters anyway.
