"Why" he asked rhetorically-

"Are Democrats so opposed to honest voting?"

"The law would — among other changes — make mail-in voting more difficult by requiring voters to give extra information, bar local officials from sending absentee ballot applications to anyone who did not request one, and end after-hours and drive-through voting."

And as usual from the stories Newsmax uses, it's completely slanted to the left.

She likes it

Inland M1 carbine barrel date of 9-1942 with all the correct stamping on the stock and metal (that I can see).
Had some FtFeed from the mag he supplied- which looked brand new, so it'll need some wearing in.

The horses and donkeys weren't impressed...

AND- since I can only find ball ammo right now, I'm going to need st get a reloading set-up so I can make bullets like Extreme Cavitator I ran across.
I wonder if it's patented?
Probably.
Maybe I can take a wedge out of the side so it...'bends' when it hits and get a tumbling action from that...

Your Rule 5 Thursday

On a Friday again because I'm out on Workers Comp with a thumb injury and am starting to lose track of days... instead of having my days and hours mixed up because of my work schedule.

Anyway, enjoy some long range shooting-

For you who work on vehicles

I'm sure you've noticed this phenomenon before....

Smoke Theory of Electronic Devices
Introduction-
From the basic concept of transmission of electrical energy in the form of smoke, a better understanding of the mysteries of electrical components, especially those manufactured by Lucas, a British manufacturer, is provided.

Theory of smoke-
Smoke is the thing that makes electrical circuits work; we know this to be true because every time one lets the smoke out of an electrical system, it stops working. This has been verified repeatedly through empirical testing by countless EE212 students. When, for example, the smoke escapes from an electrical component (i.e., say, a Lucas voltage regulator or a 741 Op Amp), it will be observed that the component stops working. The function of the wire harness is to carry the smoke from one device to another; when the wire harness "springs a leak", it lets all the smoke out of the system. Once this happens, nothing works afterwards. For example, starter motors were frowned upon in British automobiles for many years, largely because they consume large quantities of smoke, requiring very large wires.

Conclusion
It has been noted that Lucas components are possibly more prone to electrical leakage than either Bosch or generic Japanese electrics. Experts point out that this is because Lucas is British and all things British leak. British engines leak oil, shock absorbers, hydraulic forks and disk brakes leak fluid, British tyres leak air, and the British defense establishment leaks secrets...so, naturally, British electrics leak smoke.

Rule 5 thursday puzzle on Friday

Well at least I know my thumb isn't broken. Now we need to see why it's hurting the way it is. MRI soon to be scheduled.

Anyway- that looks like the M-16 I carried- except for the scope and the round barrel shroud.

The World turned Upside Down

Tradition has it that it was the  tune the Brits played at the surrender at Yorktown.

But when shit happens, it can be as quick and unexpected as a pipeline getting hacked.

The Colonial pipeline put almost 1/4 of the country on -at least- limited supplies of gasoline (why it affected airliners using Kerosene I don't know) and showed how some people act.

They probably stored that excess gas with their horde of TP.

OR a shut down of an entire world because of an overhyped virus.

We're stocking up on food

We have well water- need a generator to supply it (we're working on that)
We don't really use enough gas to have a tank in the yard

Shortages and disruptions are still happening because of lingering affects from the shutdown.

People still are not going to work because the .GOV is paying them not to with our tax Dollars.

Supplies are still on back order- which is changing the dynamics of everything, including used pickups. I was starting to look for one about halfway into the plandemic shutdown, but decided to wait a while. Then I watched the prices rise as the new truck shortage went on............ because of a chip shortage.

Now I'm seeing the prices of 3/4 ton trucks where I wouldn't pay if there were half the miles on them.

SO............. I'm thinking hard at a restomod. If I have to pay that much for a used truck, why not got with something with style?
I can get a '64 C-10 or 72 F-100 or even a 78 Dodge for less (nothing is cheap anymore) and throw in a crate motor and 5 speed manual -with modern conveniences for a little more than the going price of a 2500 Silverado with 140K miles on it.

Your Thursday Rule 5 Puzzle

And my favorite Gun Bunny on the left.

I think I've figgured it out

When I get the new (okay, new to me) 3/4 ton at the sales yard, I'll have the salesman tell me to be sure to send that info to the office from your FFL.

He's a used car salesman, so lying is something they do naturally like Millennials.

I guess it's safe to put this up

 Don't tell the wife.
I still don't know how I'm going to tell her.

This is the most expensive rifle I've ever bought.

But she is purdy, isn't she?

Another reason I don't drive Fords

I shouldn't be bagging on them because I own stock and they didn't screw their stockholders when they took Satan's bailout..................GM.

But when they did away with the full sized Bronco and went with that butt-fugly late 90's body style they lost me.
Their radios suck.
The steering is completely isolated from the road.
Her 2013 has been in the shop more than my 2013 Silverado.

And the final reason is their capless gas filler neck. Which you can't open with a gas can spout, or jamming the pliers part of a leatherman into it.
If you try letting it pour in and seep in, it flows to the ground.
......So you have to improvise with anything cylindrical and handy.

EDIT TO ADD-
I didn't know that it had to use a supplied adapter, and I'm NOT going to dig around in all the crap the wife carries in the back of her cab.

Your Thursday Rule 5 puzzle on Friday

Waddaya mean I missed?

Tuesday, April 20, 2021

I wouldn't think this would be a good way to get noticed

........But I'm not a seller of overpriced guns.
This guy has, since I've been watching, changed almost everything about his ad- except the pics.

Now his starting price is what he originally had it as a Buy it Now price.
But he threw in 500 rounds of steel cased ammo -worth about $300.
And you get the tactikool black stock to go with it.

So, it's true-

Liberalism really IS a mental disease.

In examining Goldberg’s thread, Evie Magazine's Elizabeth Condra argued that "building resiliency against hardship is the best weapon against depression and anxiety, yet progressive ideology forces its followers to wallow in feelings of helplessness and victimhood. Instead of empowering women and minorities with self-knowledge, strength of character, and resilience to hardship, progressivism encourages victims to stay in a place of fear and helplessness."

Your Rule 5 puzzle

Relaxing after a hard day on the farm.

Monday, April 12, 2021

I guess I should be glad someone is going to outbid me

I mentioned it on FB and the wife asked (well told me anyway) ANOTHER gun!?!
I couldn't even say it's my birthday present because I just bought a Colt 1851 Navy last week.

I don't think it would have gone over well if I said, but this one is for you- it would fit you better and it's light enough for you to enjoy shooting :-)

Your last Thursdays Rule 5 puzzle today

Because every girl needs a little black dress.

Well Yahoo...

It would have probably lasted longer if you didn't let it become a complete troll farm...

"Dear Yahoo Answers Community,

We launched Yahoo Answers sixteen years ago to help people around the world connect and share information. With you and millions of other users, we built the best place on the web to ask and answer questions on a variety of topics, creating a community of global knowledge sharing. While we could not have been prouder of what we accomplished together, we are reaching out today to let you know that we have decided to shut down Yahoo Answers on May 4th, 2021.

While Yahoo Answers was once a key part of Yahoo’s products and services, it has become less popular over the years as the needs of our members have changed. To that end, we have decided to shift our resources away from Yahoo Answers to focus on products that better serve our members and deliver on Yahoo’s promise of providing premium trusted content...."

AAR- San Antonio SAXET gun show

Lots of knives and pistols. Plenty of EBRs, too. I got the Colt Navy I bought on Gunbroker and the wife got some moderately overpriced .38 JHP($65 for 50).

Only saw about three M-1 carbines, assorted bolties and the usual assortment of misc. parts and mags.

What I didn't see and would have laid down cash for was any 80% lowers. I bet that would be a good seller if anyone tried it. Or maybe there's some legal reason nobody's selling them...

New to me revolver

Looks like I'm going to be the winner of an Armi San Marco Colt Navy if nobody outbids me.

Now it looks like the ammo shortage is hitting the BP market, too in that when I'm done with the last half pound of Pyrodex, I'm going to have to start making it myself.

The components by themselves are nowhere near what I've seen the scattered examples of online.

I just wonder how much the modern, cleaner version of BP substitute is than the original?
Guess I'll find out.

Now I need to go make a stand for my new semi-reactive targets.

Well Nike- they've got your swoosh on them

Apparently People are unset that some rapper is selling shoes that have ONE DROP of human blood in them. Each of my trucks probably have more than that smeared on them somewhere...

But Nike is saying they don't have anything to do with the overpriced shoes made with slave labor.

-But they still have the swoosh-

If some Christian group came along and made alterations to sell- you KNOW that Nike would have them in court.
