So, we finally signed on the Hondo house today

The thing's been a PITA for years.

And since I won't be buying another new vehicle- because of prices and all the BS 'safety' features to put up with.
I'm looking at 3/4 ton diesel Chevy's and Dodges no newer than 2005 so I have options in fuel. Or an F-250 built before 1998 when Ford could still build good trucks.

The only thing gas is going to do is go up. On top of the 0biden war on fossil fuels and the oncoming shortage of fertilizer for food- That 10% ethanol is going to cost even more to put in your tank.
You know for sure that NOBODY in DeeCee is going to even think about putting the brakes on that mandate.

  2. Oh OK...I misunderstood...still, it's a load off, as long as you got someplace to go...are you gonna be staying local?

    1. Yes, we're living at the farm in Seguin for the last six years.

  3. " ... no newer than 2005 so I have options in fuel ..." Are you thinking of bio-diesel? DEF? What is wrong with trucks newer than 2005? Just curious. I've got a 2005 GMC Sierra 2500HD and I love it, but someday I'll have to replace it.

    1. I was thinking DEF, and the whole regen thing.
All our delivery trucks (24K and 12K straight trucks) are 2020 and 2021s. two were down for some kind of sensor on the exhaust side. one truck was down for six months because there wasn't that sensor anywhere in N.America/CONUS.
The new computers don't like anything except low sulpher diesel snd will throw codes and even derate your engine if you use the wrong fuel.......or run low on DEF.

I was looking at burning (semi) refined motor oil or whatever if/when the supply got hit with another DNS on the fuel pipes like what happened last year to the gas pipelines somewhere on the east coast.
