I was out chopping cotton and my brother was bailing hayaayay....

...And I know 'chopping cotton' means hoeing weeds, but you do a quick image search for "chopping cotton" and see what you get.
It depends on which search engine you use. Google shows almost all blacks. Duck Duck Go shows about half whites and half blacks.
ReplyDeleteMy parents, grandparent , my father's brothers, and my wife have all chopped and picked cotton. All of them are white.
I brought that song in to a jam group I had today. There were four of us old enough to remember the song, although only three of us did.
