I don't think this will end well

America went through this before and it was vicious and bloody enough- without a Communist dictator in charge

Lets party like it's 1773

The Boston tea party was held on this date to protest another of King George's user taxes.
Back then, the Colonists were paying far more into a distant and uncaring government than they were getting back in services...............

Wait-a-minute- that was 1773? Cr@p, it sounds like us today, doesn't it?
Except this time we'll never get out from under the thumb of D.C.

I'm just curious about Hillaries supporters

The ones who keep telling us about how "uniquely qualified" she is to be a Democrat president.
I mean besides being the only white woman running.

Is not being able to remember jack chit about what you did in your life one of those qualifications? You know- not remembering what your job was in the Rose Law firm, Who's decision it was to fire and then prosecute the White House Travel Office staff. Has anyone found out who Hired Craig Livingstone of the FBI files in the White House basement? How about the magical appearance of Hils billing records...AFTER she testified that she couldn't remember nada about her job there?

Not to mention her forthrightness on her Government health care fiasco.

About that bandwidth problem I was having with DISHtv

After we finally came off their Fair Access Policy- we hardly ever break the top of a 6250MG download -out of an allowable 12000MG average. That's with everything going the same way we always did. Including music and pr()n educational video downloads.

After calming down and thinking a bit, I'm starting to think it's Wildblue company policy to FAP new customers in their first two months...just to teach them a lesson (or sell upgrades[more download bandwidth]).
It happened to us when we first got Wildblue (and we upgraded to the next tier), and it happened with wildblue via DISH Internet when they saw us as a new customer.
I wonder how many upgrades they get by just turning off a reset counter for a week or two?

Nose art

I'm watching reruns of the Memphis Bell.
And in the opening half hour they show the take-off roll of the bomber wing.
So I thought I'd give you some anti-PC eye candy.

In looking, I ran across this site, which should tweak some sensibilities:

Although some examples of non regulation art can be found on the military aircraft of other English-speaking countries, the phenomenon is predominantly American, perhaps due to the streak of rebellious individualism attributed to American culture. Nose art is important as an historical and societal indicator over time, an example of folk art or popular expression, and a record of the past.

~and~
The characteristics of World War II aircraft art and the fact that it flourished during that time are indicators of that era. The art reflects the attitude of the people involved in the war--both at home and on the front, and, in the case of World War II, the attitude was positive (Davis v. 3, p. 3). The images--often patriotic and sometimes propagandistic--clearly reflected the spirit of the times, the all-out American effort to fight the good war. The combat crews were backed by a unified, supportive public. This was a war with a clear objective, and one in which the whole country challenged a known evil. At first look, the art that was a product of the war seems to be nothing more than silly names and irreverent images. But taken as a whole, the images indefinably suggest an underlying determination of the country to right a wrong.-My bolding

OK, so did I p*ss off enough Brits and 'patriotic' Libs?

Anyway, on to the un-PC patriotism of the Airedales...

She is part of the C.A.F. San Marcos Squadron a B-25

And look at their life in Europe:

I was looking for a specific plane, 'The magnificent Obsession' because a friend of mine from Port Aransas (and San Antonio) Col. Art Rupert (Ret.) flew with her during the war.
I DID find another piece of nose art that another friend flew as a 'Volunteer' in China, though...

With a tip of a rat-killing .45 to frank.

Coffee?

I got to clicking links and ended up at 'The Anchoress' where she was talking about take-out coffee.
She'd rather have take-out than home brewed.

I *HATE* the taste of industrial coffee, it always tastes bad- too burnt, bitter, old, or (Insert your dislike here). I usually drink it black -like my men- , but even adding the flavor maskers doesn't work, just tastes nasty.
If I have to drink that nasty cr@p, at least they have a couple pieces of ice to cool it down (and dilute it a little)

But my dear Erica, making Ice Coffee intensifies the dog c@rp factor by over 100%- I don't know who convinced you that it could possibly be near as good as Iced Tea, but NYC is as Liberal as Seattle, so maybe it was osmosis.
The sweet kind.

A question for the Gore-acle Himself

Hiya Albert!
I was just reading Eric's' take on your latest version of the "we're all gonna fry!" speech.

After all your self righteous hyperbole. Would you please tell us just exactly *how* or *why* this particular 'Global warming Climate change event' is any worse for the earth, (and the human race) than any of the uncounted (that's before people could keep reliable records) history of global warming cycles?
Is it because there could be disruptions to the way animals live? Isn't that the religion of Evolution that you libs pay homage to?

But *WHY* -aside from the fact that you and your chicken hearted enviro-Crusaders are alive now- is ANYTHING different from the other hundreds of warming cycles that have reshaped the earth and it's (sorry---Her) inhabitants?

Also, given the way your Dems and eco-wienies have destroyed our petroleum self sufficiency- and jacked the price of home heating up so it *really* hurts the poor; why would it be so bad to have warmer winters?

Weather update

We're now getting the rain they've been promising for the last two days.
I have to take the backhoe to a new school complex about 10 miles away from the Pennies project.
My supervisor wants me to road it instead of going all the way out to the Orchard (the new main office) and getting the haul truck.
That will be an interesting experience- hauling butt down 1604 at 25MPH in the rain.

I don't know if this kerfluffle is local

But here in San Antonio, Time-Warner is exchanging temper tantrums having business differences with the NFL over T-W not carrying their NFL network.

The NFL network has now somehow gotten the Texas Legislature to look at somehow mandating Time -Warner to offer their (moneymaking) network to all subscribers.

It's none of my business, really ( I have DirectTV) but I'm getting tired of MAJOR corporations acting like spoiled kids trying to get the public involved in helping Jerry Jones make even MORE money off his team of drug dealers and assorted other criminals.

I understand the NFL wanting T-W to supply their game network on a non-premium tier, but WHY should everyone be forced to pay higher fees to make the NFL even richer?
Every cable company I've used has had fee increases because they're now bringing me even 'more' sports channels (and removing the ones I watch) that I don't watch.
I also don't have *ANY* inclination to watch the Mexican channels, so that leaves me maybe 20 channels to watch out of an advertised 500+.

NFL network,,,,stop wasting my tax dollars!

Will someone PLEASE help me spread the word

...That when you come up to a stop SIGN- it will *NEVER* turn green.
Also that green light you see at a stop LIGHT; The bottom one, the GREEN ONE; it will *NEVER* get any greener than it is now.

Also, what IS it with those Mexicans and horns?
I was working on a new Pennies today and all I heard over my backhoe motor was two Mexicans blowing their horns on another backhoe and a liftall- every time they changed speed, direction or came near one of their fellow "guest" workers.

Think anyone would object?

A Christmas melody

From Da Yoopers

The Legacy Media

Helping America lose wars since Viet Nam.

Even our enemies thank them for their victories.

Here's a quote (lifted from dat cajun) from Gen Gaip (Commie- N.V.)

“What we still don’t understand is why you Americans stopped the bombing of Hanoi. You had us on the ropes. If you had pressed us a little harder, just for another day or two, we were ready to surrender! It was the same at the battles of TET. You defeated us! We knew it, and we thought you knew it. But we were elated to notice your media was definitely helping us. They were causing more disruption in America than we could in the battlefields. We were ready to surrender. You had won!”

A truism worthy of note: Do not fear the enemy, for they can take only your life. Fear the media far more, for they will destroy your honour.

This is what they're dragging up about Fred Thompson?

The Legacy Media is (I guess) trying to show F-Thoms (to do the rapper thing) hypocrisy by not having a hunting license. I'm sure there's a good reason that he doesn't.
I'm pretty sure that campaigning does take time way from a deer stand.
It's not like he *needs* to buy 2nd Amend cred by getting a NRA life membership two days before running for Prez.

I live where all I have to do is step out of my truck to shoot a deer (or a feral pig) and I don't have a licence. I might get one if the Dem's keep forcing the price of meat up- but that's later.
I don't want to spend the time dressing and butchering the thing. Plus I have three dogs. Can you imaging those idiots -and me smelling like fresh kill, I'd never get to the house without stepping on the idiotic things.

So, I guess because Freddy-T (is that a better hip-hop name?) likes fire arms, but doesn't have a hunting license makes him somehow a hypocrite and not worth voting for?
Sorry for you, but that makes him more inclined to vote for him- just because you have to use that fluff to go negative.

Ok, to be honest about the hunting thing. I work outside all day, and have the Ron White hunting ethic. There's no A/C or heat out there, that's what I work to pay for. That's what I want.

Good grief

Is all I can say.

And, Dayum. That's going to be a biatch to clean.

I found this blog on my sitemeter. Pretty to the point.

For every one searching my blog for CHELSEA CLINTONS NIPPLES try clicking on the *image* button, you might actually see pictures.

Just do it!

Here's a way to thank the troops from across the room.
Think of it as flashing gang signs- but in a good cause.

Be in the right posse.

I sure am hearing a lot of false outrage from the left---again

This time it's about those CIA tapes.
You'd figure that after the Valery Plame blow-up and subsequent witch-hunt, that they'd understand trying to protect agents that were *really* covert. The ones that didn't let everyone in DC know who they worked for and didn't have their names and faces in a major magazine with her husband Joe Wilson.

Here's a clue for you Leftists out there that have your undies in a wad about waterboarding- a lot of our troops and probably most of the CIA know *EXACTLY* what it feels like because it's part of their training in resisting interrogation.
But then, it's Americans doing it to Americans, which isn't as bad as doing it to Islamo-fascist terrorists -who you people want to protect.

Sorry, long day

Actually it was a long week.
I didn't do a Dec 7 post but there are plenty of good ones out there, quite a few on my blogroll.

We're still in New Braunfels spinning our wheels on something that we should be finished with by now. It was supposed to be a simple job- Pull the old cement (light) pole bases out, find the old condiut, stub out replacement conduit, pour new base pull wire and set the poles- for 29 riverside park lights.
  • Out first item of pulling the old pole bases showed us that the conduit was run into the bottom (about 5' deep)
  • The work is on a slope of various degrees of steepness. On one of the holes, I had to use the backhoe on something like a 30 degree incline. After pulling the base and finding the old conduit, the gravel was so loose that I almost slid the backhoe into the Comal river.
  • Every time I start to follow the old conduit, I'm breaking some kind of waterline ( I hope they're all abandoned), running into big rocks that pull my backhoe into the forms, or the ground is so dry that the dirt just fills the (new hole I drilled) back in.
  • We thought we FINALLY (after two weeks) got 15 done enough that we could pour the base,,,,,,,until the inspector came out.
  • We have to take everything back to Selma every night, so our machines aren't completly cover with graffiti and our material isn't stolen. (Nice people you have there, N.B.)
The new pole bases are specked at 7' from the top of the Sona-tube to the bottom of the hole.
the 6'9" we had (that would have passed on any other job) weren't acceptable to our intrepid bureaucrat. Now we have to redo almost all we've done.

I *know* the company is taking a bath on this one. It's been FUBARed from day one, and we've given them over 10 hours in unpaid overtime.

After due deliberation, I've decided who I'll be voting for

Lets see-
  • We have womyn voting for the Hildabeast because she's the 'right' sex.
  • Blacks are voting for Obama because he's the 'right' color.
  • Romney gave an "I am am an American before a Mormon" speach- which changes some peoples minds.
  • Huckabee [I haven't seen ant bumper stickers, but would it say *I heart Huckabee*?]
  • Fred Thompson actually has a track record that matches his campaign
  • Guliani the east coast vote.
I think I'll follow everyones lead and vote for the one like me.

It's the white guy!

I just thought of something

With all this CO2 hysteria from the Left environmentalists who claim the effect causes the cause (CO2 occured after global warming events- historically).
And their pilgrimage to the tropical resort of ......um....Bali?, who is planting millions of trees as an 'offset'.

I guess that we Americans were climate saviours back in the late 19th century because we got rid of millions of Greenhouse gas emitting problems. So instead of hating us, the environmentalists should be glad we almost exterminated the Buffalo, right?

Wouldn't goats be cheaper?

Here we have a typical government example of PCnesss run amuck.
Over in Wales, they're training police dogs to go aginst their nature and headbut criminals instead of biting them.

Seriously, I can hear you sniggering right now.

I was serious about using goats for this new law enforcement tactic.
  • It's their natural instinct to but, not bite.
  • They're at least as smart as dogs.
  • They're cheaper than Belgian Malinois
  • People won't get as attached to a goat as they will a dog
Seriously though, part of the deterrent value is the white flashing fangs of a tightly leashed sheppard.

The internet and your homework

I wonder how old the kid looking for this was?
I guess we should be glad that he didn't go to the Texas Green Party for any kind of U.S. Civics.
Cynthia also wants to run in all 51 states and the District of Columbia, so her Houston event will also raise funds for GPTX ballot access, in the very difficult state of Texas.

And I see I'm astill getting hits from Big Dick places (one complete and inactive and the other incomplete and inactive). If he wants some video content that I found the other day, he could send me an email off my contact page. I'm sure he'd find it worthwile in a female empowering way.

Oh, and working at Heiman park in New braunfels still sucks. There isn't a place I've dug where I haven't broken a (abandoned) water line, irrigation line, or the condiut We're lookin for in relacing old light posts. AND we have to haul everything back to the shop daily, or it'll be tagged, solen or vandalized.

I'll miss him

I knew he was in a bad way, but didn't think he'd go so soon.

I got this notice in my mail today:

My parents told me about Mr. Common Sense early in my life and told me I
would do well to call on him when making decisions.. It seems he was always
around in my early years but less and less as time passed by. Today I read
his obituary. Please join me for a moment of silence in remembrance. For
Common Sense has served us all so well for so many generations.

Obituary
Common Sense

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has
been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his
birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing
when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life
isn't always fair, and maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more
than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children are
in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place Reports of a six-year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from
school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding
an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job
they themselves failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It
declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to
administer Aspirin, sun lotion or a sticky plaster to a student; but could
not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an
abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became
contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better
treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't
legally defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar can
sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in her
lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his
wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is
survived by three stepbrothers; I Know my Rights, Someone Else is to Blame,
and I'm a Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

Revisionism

It's going on all over.

Tonight, I'm getting a very dark version of the originally light-hearted 'Wizard of OZ'.
This one is called "The Tin Man", and is nothing like L. Frank Baum wrote about.

The yellow brick road is overgrown and the characters have only a nodding acquaintance to the original version.

I bet "The dark side of the moon" album wouldn't even come close to being synced on this one.

ALSO, on the auto maintenance front:
If you accidental go to change the oil in a 2004 Miztu Montero Sport and end up a foot back from where you usually unplug the oil drain plug- you'll be draining the transmission.
Yes, the auto transmission has a drain plug.
The oil pan looks just like it, but is a foot forward.

If you DO end up draining the tranny- on a Sunday, when the closest auto parts store is a good 30 min away- you need to look for Castrol foreign ATF fluid that matches SP III specs. At $5 each.
It needed changing anyway, I just didn't want to do it until I was ready.

This should scare you

First I saw this article about a contractor getting ready to grind a stump finding 30 live mortars in Fla.

Then I saw something even more ominous.
I can see where this is going, and it makes the U.N.'s world government pale by comparison.
In addition to the privately owned (and unregulated) Google sifting through everything you do on the Internet, they are now looking at monitoring your cell phone usage.

I'm really not surprised at all the 'human rights' campaigners who have a problem with George Bush monitoring phone calls to known terrorists- but have absolutely no problem with a Liberal company that is caching information on everyone it comes across to use against them in the future.
But, then again, they're Libs too- so it's ok to blackmail Conservatives by letting information "slip" out somehow.

Dear Wales

England called, they were wondering if they could borrow a cup of consonants?

Yeah, I was watching 'Torchwood', why?

...And, yes, they really DO sound Irish when they're............................agitated- take it from experience.

.....And yes- Gwen is hot even with her gapetoothed smile. Just as hot as her countrywoman...

Just thought y'all oughtta know

Today is world AIDS day.
Where we celebrate the lifestyle choices of a politically protected group of people: and instead of mentioning how drug use and indiscriminate sex are their decision, we spend Billions of Dollars, Yen, Euros and any other currency you can think of to find 'a cure'.

I guess we'll never see an International Lung Cancer Day, or a National Emphysema Day celebrating the choice smokers make.

What about National Liver Cirrhosis's Day celebration over indulging on adult beverages?

National Hepatitis Day would stand a better chance, given the prevalence of tacky tats on anyone that wants top be a bad@ss- and since most illegals are gang members (or enablers) they're right in the PC adoration circle anyway- right?

I can understand the idea back in the '80s when we first heard of the disease, but today no one in any developed country DOES NOT understand just how AIDS is spread.
Why should we celebrate it?

Don't ask- Don't tell

I'd like to remind the *KOFF* undecided gay General who was concerned about that policy that it was his homegirls husband that put that policy in place.

And through both of his terms and the current Democrat led Congress- it was NEVER changed.
Why do you think a Republican president would do anything your people wouldn't?

And just to go on record about all those military-wide witch hunts that were so pervasive during the other (no-gays) policy....the entire NINE. YEARS. that I was in the Navy, I only heard of *ONE* person discharged because of his disruptive (flaming fag) behaviour.
