I must have missed that

Can Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) tell me when and where the Republicans used the codewords for Flagrent malfeasance in their new majority term?

“Allowing incoming Chairman Ryan to have unilateral power to set spending limits — instead of subjecting those limits to a vote on the floor of the House — flies in the face of promises by House Republicans to have the most transparent and honest Congress in history,”

Oh, and the Communists are pissed that the Republicans are actually going to do something to control the debt.

A proposed House rule granting new powers to the GOP chairman of the Budget Committee has sparked outrage from Democrats.

The proposed rule would allow the Budget Committee chairman to set spending ceilings for 2011 without a vote by the full House. By approving the rules package, the House would give authority to the new Budget panel chairman to set budget ceilings at a later time and his decision would not be subject to an up-or-down vote on the floor.

In practice, this would give power to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), the incoming chairman of the panel, to impose deep spending cuts since spending bills cannot exceed the budget ceiling for the 2011 fiscal year.

So naturally they're ready to hand out pitchforks and torches to all the snowplow drivers that took time off from their jobs in NYC- to protest...or something. Because the Union would rather have people gie than their thugs loose any money.

But anyway, RTHT because it's nice to see the Republicans finally hitting back.

In which proves again

That Liberalism is all about controlling others.

The U.K.s Daily Mail has a story about the oldest and most well known Liberal organization in America.

‘Every Friday morning we had to go to Hef’s room, wait while he picked up all the dog poo off the carpet — and then ask for our allowance: a thousand dollars counted out in crisp hundred-dollar bills from a safe in one of his bookcases,’ she says.

‘We all hated this process. Hef would always use the occasion to bring up anything he wasn’t happy about in the relationship. Most of the complaints were about the lack of harmony among the girlfriends — or your lack of sexual participation in the “parties” he held in his bedroom.

‘If we’d been out of town for any reason and missed one of the official “going out” nights [When Hefner liked to parade his girls at nightclubs] he wouldn’t want to give us the allowance. He used it as a weapon.’

The allowance was also withdrawn if there was any infringement of the strict rules imposed by Hefner on all his girlfriends.

~snip~
She has since described how his staff noted every time one of the girls left or arrived back at the Mansion. Hefner would pore over the logs every morning, which, Wilkinson said, drove her ‘insane’.

‘It was way more strict than my parents had ever been,’ she says

And just how unappealing it is when you look under the pretty glitter.
For Izabella, the Playboy Mansion was far from the glamorous pleasure palace she had imagined. ‘Each bedroom had mismatched, random pieces of furniture,’ she recalls in her autobiography Bunny Tales. ‘It was as if someone had gone to a charity shop and bought the basics for each room.

‘Although we all did our best to decorate our rooms and make them homely, the mattresses on our beds were disgusting — old, worn and stained. The sheets were past their best, too.

~snip~
Everything in the Mansion felt old and stale, and Archie the house dog would regularly relieve himself on the hallway curtains, adding a powerful whiff of urine to the general scent of decay.’

The Playboy mansion, the perfect example of Liberalism.

You know those new Obamcare commercials on TV?

The one that tells you where to find out all those marvelous new benefits you're eligible for?

They're saying that under the right circumstances, Medicare will pay up to 50% of the cost.

Thanks guys, but I'd rather have my OWN insurance where my co-pay is a max of $25.

Dude, really!

You can't come up with a better excuse for Prezident Kickazz to extend his Hawaiian golfing vacation again?

Obama spokesman Bill Burton says the president is trying to squeeze in more time with his family before returning to the nation's capital.

I mean- doesn't he work from home?
At least W fixed up his ranch while you Lefties were complaining about how many times he was away from DeeCee.

Someone just went on "The Won's" enemies list

If you don't want to hear "Paint it black" forward to about 1:36 and listen to what R. Lee has to say about the economy...

Gee, I don't know why they'd think that

I mean, really- who would ever think the Union would hold hostage the people who pay their salaries by not doing what they're supposed to do?

It's not like we've ever hared of the teachers waiting until school starts to strike for even MORE money and benefits.
Or the police union threatening to strike when they know there's unrest in their city.

So why would anyone even think- in the growing financial problems of NYC- that the unions would have a work slowdown?

It's not like they'll get fired no matter what they do, or don't- including f*cking someones SUV up because they're incompetent (and yes I DO know how to operate a front end loader)

BUT not to worry because Mayor Mike is also angry about his city's (lack of) response to the taxpayers who are still snowed in. But come January 10th, they'll have a City Council meeting to try to find out why a Liberal city with a Liberal Mayor and slothful, overpaid Unions are so f*cked up when it comes to emergencies.

This is what happens when you mix

Godless communists and religion.

There's a piece in Politico where they keep repeating the wrong idea from Genesis 4:9.
“He presents his Christianity as an important aspect of his identity but one he doesn’t want to foist upon anyone else, and he would rather risk downplaying it than offending somebody,” said Jeffrey Siker, a theology professor at Loyola Marymount University, who has studied Obama’s use of the Bible in his speeches.

“One recurring phrase — and I’ve noticed this frequently of late — this notion that we are our brothers’ keepers, which is kind of a mantra for him,” Siker added, noting that Obama “would see the notion of being our brother’s keeper as something that crosses all religious lines.”

And they keep harping on how much of a Christian the guy who spent 20 years in a Black Power church, but can't remember any of it.

Anyway those Godless commies keep reminding us of how their Chicago Jeezus is quoting the bible when talking about being his brothers keeper.
Because even though I'm a lapsed Christian, I know that wasn't a good thing.

If any of you Libs are wanting to know what that whole "Brothers keeper" thing is all about that you think sounds cool...

Genesis 4:9 (New International Version, ©2010)

9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”

“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

.....In case you're not up on the story, that's a conversation with Cain right after he killed his brother, Able with a rock.

You see, he would have used a GUN- but they weren't invented yet.........

Over at Powerline

Paul has a post up about Bush becoming more popular as time goes on.

He mentions the fact that his new book sold almost as many in the two months it's been out as Bill Clinton's has in the six years that it's been out.

Paul also mentioned the contrasts between Bush's inclusiveness and Obamas partisan narcissism.

One thing he didn't mention in the rising of Bush's popularity is the simple fact that the MSM isn't demonizing him daily- like it was for eight straight years,

Presented without comment

Except to say if a picture is worth a thousand words, this is Beetlejuice on "Cloud 9"

Stolen from Leeann

I'm curious to know

where this Diversity Committee of the Society of Professional Journalists is located.
Off hand, I'd have to say either Kalifornia or NYC.

Because of their newest suggestions in referring to illegal aliens.

,,,writing that those who have not obtained citizenship but have entered the country without any prior approval should be called “undocumented workers” or “undocumented immigrants.”

Because in their land, most Hispanics think of themselves as Mexicans in a forgein land, right? Down here in San Antonio, the Mexicans I work with- who grew up here call those same undocumented workers,,,WETBACKS or more accurately mujadoes.

They've already change the term terrorist into "militants" and "radicals" are probably working on making them into patriots. Like those IRA bombers.

So what's next?
Pedophiles as undocumented childcare providers?

Meth makers as unregistered Pharmacists?

Carjackers as unintended chauffeurs?

Or Michael Vick an operator of an unlicensed kennel?

Pu$$ies

So the Viqueens delayed a game because of a little snow.

It would be nice to see real men on the field again.

Not quite clear on this concept

The guy that started wikipedia says he doesn't want people distracted by ads.
...Or he doesn't want to clutter up his site with moneymaking ads.

So what's the difference between throwing up an ad and putting your face as headliner begging for money?

The fact that you're staying true to your hippie roots by not "selling out" to corporations?

Putting it into context

We woke up to an outdoor thermometer that said 18 degrees Fahrenheit.

The Daily mail is expanding on their weather woes:

Traditional family walks to help the turkey go down were mostly off the cards today as Britain endured its coldest Christmas Day in living memory.

The mercury plummeted to -5.9C at Glenlivet in 1996, but that record was smashed last night when temperatures dropped to -17C at Worcester and -18C at Altnaharra in northern Scotland.

Some areas enjoyed a traditional white Christmas, with snow falling in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and north east England.

Most parts of England, Wales and Northern Ireland were sunny and dry but daytime temperatures are set to remain below freezing.

In Fahrenheit, we're looking at about 20F, about 0F and 0F.
In S. Texas we don't have that nice blanket of insulating snow either.

But not only does this NOT disprove the whole Glowbull warming thing, it's proof -somehow that it's in full swing and will have the earth a charred cinder withing our lifetimes!!!one!!!!

Anyone with a largish readership

might want to take a look at this...

So, was it before or after?

Prezident Kickazz stopped by the Marine galley yesterday (or today- to reporter didn't say) for a quick photo op so that Michelle could gloat about her overpriced new bracelet and he could get in another round of golf.

I notice they didn't say he ate there- the food probably wasn't up to his standards....

The base menu included prime rib, turkey, potatoes, vegetables and pie.

Merry Chritsmas!

My first thought was human Lemmins

Then it dawned on me- no, they're Liberals!
They want to think they're different, but they're all following the script.

A Christmas message

from someone else I hope I can vote for.

IF the Republican primaries LET me vote for him...instead of letting all the RINOS in the first half of the states decide who I can vote for.

AGAIN!

If I don't have a REAL conservative this time- you Republicans are going to be as popular as the Copperhead party was during reconstruction.

The 'Reverend' wishes you a Merry Christmas

So do some of the Stray Cats:

How many of my readers know how a thermostat works?

I mean the old kind with a little mercury inside a glass tube.

I'm reading this story about that pilot who took video of that farce called the TSA security theater. The story that tells of faceless, unelected, unresponsive, uncontrollable bureaucrats trying to find what they can pin on this pilot for showing just how bad their dog and pony show really is.

The reason I was asking about that detonator, was just how easy it would be to load a bomb in the cargo hold set to go off when the plane starts it's takeoff climb.
-->Open the suitcase, slip it in and pull that safety tape off the contacts then start loading other planes as you wait for the plane to break up above a neighborhood elementary school.

-OR- when your catering truck noses up to the plane, put your present on one of those beverage carts.

Those terrorists are locked in a 14th century religion but that doesn't make them completely stupid. Only some loner is going to try boarding with a bomb anymore, and the way TSA is letting crap on planes anyway- he'd probably make it on board....
for the PASSENGERS to stop- like they have been doing.

Just wanted to remind Keith Ellison (D-Minnisotistan)

That history shows that Tailgunner Joe was right.

Are you sure you want to go down that road?
You can see the interview on the Sgt. Schultz show, if you can stand that much stooopidity in one five minute clump.

We need to get some kind of government oversite on this

It may even qualify as a national security problem sometime in the future.
Since it's a national security concern if 25% of kids are too fat to pass their military physicals- the .gov needs to take over their nutrition needs.

Now that the military is reporting that 23% of recent H.S grads are too stupid to pass the minimum ASVAPs, something needs to be done....it's security, you know!

Maybe we need to appoint a government board to oversee out national education nee-------- Ohh!

It's not just Evil Black Rifles anymore

Prezident Kickazz has his TABC asking for permission to track all "high powered rifles" sold along the border.

Well, maybe- exept that their version of "high powered rifles" and mine vary slightly.
See, my idea of a high powered rifle would start with a round that is over 3.5 inches long- maybe even 4".

Obama's TABC, on the other hand considers a rifle "high powered" if the round is bigger than a .22LR.

Something in the back of my mind

ever since I saw the picture that Coonass had from his game camera.
Remember? That alien looking thing...

You know, it just didn't look like any other night game-cams that I remember seeing...
This deer and the cat...

Even this blurred ...umm...weaslish looking thing aren't as ...strangely blurred as our hunters camera would show.

Of course, if he really meant to show something unknown stalking the Louisiana swampland, he'd show something like this:

Words have meaning, Nancy

Especially to us outside of DeeCee.

See Nan, when I read this:

(Politico)- “Every minute is a new minute to me,” says Nancy Pelosi, and, with boxes packed in the hall outside, the soon-to-be-former speaker has already jumped ahead to her vision of the “humming, whirling entity” House Democrats can still be in the coming Congress.

I thought of this.

Three pages

and Holder didn't mention islam or moslims once in his warnings about home grown terrorists.

Helping you with your Christmas buying

Ala all the other sites telling you what to buy, I give you Kurt's equivalents.

Watching yourself put on the pounds at $159-
Type-A health nuts, rejoice: The Withings WiFi Body Scale ($159) shows your weight, then beams it to the company’s Web site via your home wireless connection. It also measures other biometric data, such as body fat. Register for a free online account and see graphs of weight gain or loss over time. Eight people can share one scale, and it comes with a free iPhone application.

Kurt's suggestion-
The Taylor Tempered Glass Body Fat/Body Water Scale at $34.77 that does what that expensive one does, but doesn't tell everyone on the internet about your poundage.

GET UP!
The light on the BlueMax Sunrise System Model 200 by Full Spectrum Solutions ($129) is intended to simulate dawn, helping the body wake up more naturally. The clock can begin emitting light between 15 and 90 minutes before the desired wake-up time and gradually gets brighter. Heavy sleepers have an optional backup alarm sound. The Model 200 also comes with a choice of light bulbs to mimic morning or midday light.

Kurts pick- If you want to wake up to natural phenomena, this alarm clock is all you need for your earthshaking experience. Wake-up with earthquakes for $47.31

Singing in the rain
The Bogs Ultra High ($103) have a standard rubber base, but their upper section is made with Neoprene, the same material used in wet suits, which the company says increases warmth, flexibility and ventilation. The 15-inch-tall boots are a manageable 3.4 pounds, with handles that make for easy on and off. And the Bogs aren’t just for April showers; they can handle subzero winter temperatures, too.

Kurt's well used pick-
$24 worth of workplace sheik chic with the added bonus of not getting your toes crushed.

Save our planet!

For the green friendly household that has to buy specialty equipment for each task we have-

The electric Black & Decker LeafHog LH5000 Blower/Vacuum is a yard-junkie triple threat: a mulcher, leaf blower and vacuum, in one. It weighs just over 8 pounds, has a zipperless bag for easy emptying and provides a 16-to-1 ratio of yard waste to mulch. The LeafHog also uses a sturdy metal impeller for mulching, which the company says should last the life of the machine, and it has a two-year warranty. It is listed as unavailable on the Black & Decker web site but can be bought on Amazon.com for $79.
- NOT to be confused with the Binford 2000 Leaf atomizer.

Kurt's pick-
None. If I were interested in mulching my leaves, Id use my lawnmower- the grass probably needs it's last mowing anyway.

Has it been that long?

It seems like only yesterday that AlBore jumped on the GlowBull warming express and started getting rich(er) off his carbon trading scam.

But it;s been ten years that we've been hearing the dire warnings of what a hell-hole of heat the earth will become in ten or fifteen years.

According to the U.K. Independent- by now British children should have forgotten what snow was.

However, the warming is so far manifesting itself more in winters which are less cold than in much hotter summers. According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become "a very rare and exciting event".

"Children just aren't going to know what snow is," he said.

The effects of snow-free winter in Britain are already becoming apparent. This year, for the first time ever, Hamleys, Britain's biggest toyshop, had no sledges on display in its Regent Street store. "It was a bit of a first," a spokesperson said.

Enjoy the ride Julian

The strangely effeminate male who likes to victimize his sexual partners is complaining about repercussions.
Funny that.

The institutions you're spilling secrets on are pushing back and you don't like it.

Well Julian, You are the one who jumped on the ride- quit complaining about how it works.

"Rum, sodomy and the lash"

Well, guess which isn't illegal in the Navy now?

Petunia

I told you about the rescue we got volunteered for.

And the cage I had to make at a moments notice (to get her out of a too small aquarium).

Well she's settled in pretty well and seems to be adapting well.

Her color has improved with the right food (green beans, mustard greens, cactus tunas, mangoes, parsnips...) instead of the iceberg lettuce she was subsisting on.

She can stretch out and climb and explore.

Everyone, meet Petunia:

She's adapting nicely and has been letting me hand feed her.
This is what a relaxed iguana looks like.

After reading this

I'm going to need a bumper sticker, no make that two.
The first would say:
WELCOME TO TEXAS, now stop driving like an @sshole

The second would say:
KALIFORIA IMMIGRANTS- Leave your Socialist ideas at the border.

Since we'll be deluged with the rest of the productive population when this Barbara Streisand kicks in.

I'm not a sociologist

But I do know something about human nature.
I'm also not a website owner or an adman.

Given that- I can't understand just WHY the fark you cover the entire screen with a farging annoying ad that you have to close by yourself.
It pisses me off and as I'm (most likely) hitting that back button- or that big red "X" in the top right- I'll glance at which product I won't be buying anytime soon.

Do you hear that, Newsflavor?

Is it just me

Or does anyone else hear the CEO of Sargento's and think they're going to watch a cartoon?

here we go again

I guess we'll have to dust off those old nuclear drills in school again.

Setting new precedents daily

His Wonness has been praise as unprecedentedly breaking precedents since he's been in office.
Look at some of them:
The first black President (of African extraction)
The first President with an unprecedented majority in Congress.
The first President to bow to foreign leaders.
The first openly Socialist President.
The first president to have more unelected, unaccountable and unresponsive Czars than White House staff.

And now, with his new way of reaching out to our historic allies in Great Britain- the fist president to be snubbed at a royal wedding.

Is there anything that boy can't do?

Dear Red Cross-UK

I really hate to be a buzz-kill, but your entire organization is an offence to moslims.

So banning Christmas stuff won't mae them like you ant better.

I can understand them not wanting to start riots (again) over something minor, but some people are even more clueless:

Labour peer Lord Ahmed, one of the country's most prominent Moslem politicians, said: 'It is stupid to think Moslems would be offended.

A fast dialogue from the living room

"Move Meg!"(the black dog on my part of the couch)
--Nothing and Sandra Rinomato is on.
"OK",,, as I flop her over onto her left side- on top of Scooter.

"Oh Gawd, hunny....somethings wrong with Meg."

What is?

"I flopped her over on top of Scooter and she's ,,,vacant,,,OOOH- I put her in safe mode."

Hit enter.

I tried, she's just got the vacant look.

Try rebooting her...

Let me quote for you

The United States Constitution Article One- Section Seven:

All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their Adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law.

You see, unlike those power hungry @sswipes in the US Senate- I actually learned that in my social studies class in high school.
So, the Senate decided that being Liberal dems, they didn't need to bother following that old piece of dried skin written by slave owning, rich white men.

I'm looking at you Republicans who didn't call this, too.

You have people who went to school for this. As a matter of fact, they wrote in a part that said that I am supposed to pay for their going to a f*cking expensive school so they could learn that the Ssnate can only VOTE on budget bills.

Stop. Giving. People. Who've. Been. Fired. The keys. To. The. Safe!

In counterpoint to Hanoi Jane Fonda

I got this in my e-mail about Ann Margret and her troops.

Viet Nam 1966

Richard, (my husband), never really talked a lot about his time in Viet Nam , other than he had been shot by a sniper. However, he had a rather grainy, 8 x 10 black and white photo he had taken at a USO show of Ann Margret with Bob Hope in the background that was one of his treasures.

A few years ago, Ann Margret was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. Richard wanted to see if he could get her to sign the treasured photo so he arrived at the bookstore at 12 o'clock for the 7:30 signing.

When I got there after work, the line went all the way around the bookstore, circled the parking lot, and disappeared behind a parking garage. Before her appearance, bookstore employees announced that she would sign only her book and no memorabilia would be permitted.

Richard was disappointed, but wanted to show her the photo and let her know how much those shows meant to lonely GI's so far from home.. Ann Margret came out looking as beautiful as ever and, as second in line, it was soon Richard's turn.

He presented the book for her signature and then took out the photo. When he did, there were many shouts from the employees that she would not sign it. Richard said, "I understand. I just wanted her to see it."

She took one look at the photo, tears welled up in her eyes and she said, "This is one of my gentlemen from Viet Nam and I most certainly will sign his photo. I know what these men did for their country and I always have time for 'my gentlemen.''

With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him. She then made quite a to-do about the bravery of the young men she met over the years, how much she admired them, and how much she appreciated them. There weren't too many dry eyes among those close enough to hear. She then posed for pictures and acted as if he were the only one there.

Later at dinner, Richard was very quiet. When I asked if he'd like to talk about it, my big, strong husband broke down in tears.. ''That's the first time anyone ever thanked me for my time in the Army,'' he said.

That night was a turning point for him. He walked a little straighter and, for the first time in years, was proud to have been a Vet. I'll never forget Ann Margret for her graciousness and how much that small act of kindness meant to my husband.

Filling out my Sekrit Skwirll papers

Because I need to be vetted by the Navy to fuel their jet trainers in a minor airfield in S. Texas. I found out today, that the company can't hire me until I get the .gov background check done.

Does anyone know how long it takes- or since it won't be rubber stamped because I'm not an Obamanite- how thorough they'll be?

This kind of cr@p is why

we need to abolish the lame duck Congress.

They are now, STILL (actually only starting) working on the Federal budget that was mandated to be complete and signed back in OCTOBER. Two months ago.

They had a ,,,umm,,,workable,,, bill that could have worked, but the unhinged Left went apeshit over the fact that the people who create jobs didn't get screwed.

Now there's a bloated bill making it's way through congress full of paybacks, handouts and featherbedding that the same people who got FIRED six weeks ago included in this new bill.

END. THE. LAME. DUCK. CONGRESS.

But all is not lost, we can always watch the fun as we're about to see a no holds barred cage match between the new Republican majority and president Kickazz himself.

"I will be happy to see the Republicans test whether or not I'm itching for a fight on a whole range of issues," Obama said last week. "I suspect they will find I am.

One of those fights will be over the very thing that some Democrats are angry about: The two-year extension of George W. Bush-era tax cuts for the nation's wealthiest Americans.

"When they expire in two years, I will fight to end them," Obama said. "Just as I suspect the Republican Party may fight to end the middle-class tax cuts that I've championed and that they've opposed."

WTF guy? But lying about chit is the only way you know how to communicate.

This has to be a joke

Right?

The difference between Conservatives and Liberals

I saw something about a study which showed that Libs are more into following the lead of others and Conservatives are more independent. Libs were more likely to follow non-verbal cues in a conversation than Conservatives.

Oh yeah- they're also more full of impotent rage than Conservatives, too.
Looking at different blogs, you can see the wonderful way a Lib will fly into a rug chewing spit flecked rage at the mere mention of Palin of George W. Bush not being in prison somewhere.
Conservatives on the other hand are more likely to laugh at what the bungler-in-chief is doing at any moment. That's not to say that there aren't times when there is outrage at what he's imposed on America, but not like the screeching monkeys on the Left.

Swords, they'll kill you

I bring this up because of a sword wielding kidnapper in France.

A sword-wielding teenager who took several children hostage at a nursery school in France on Monday has been arrested.

The unidentified male, armed with a pair of swords, walked into the Charles Fourier school in Besancon around 8 a.m. local time, French police said.

He had at one point held hostage nearly 20 boys and girls, ages four to six, along with at least one teacher.

Just remember- Swords, they'll f*cking kill you!

Axelrod on Obama

Explaining His new priorities:
'He's still a flaming Liberal- don't let this fool you.'

Actually he said:
The president is who the president always has been,”

The Glitaratie

on the Left are in awe of Michelle's guns.

I guess that's why we're always seeing her showing them off.

But if you notice, Sarah Palin seems to always wear long sleeves, except when she visits Haiti.

After seeing her in a tee shirt, I'd bet she could handily take Michelle in arm wrestling.

...And Barry, too.

Because the "C" in YMCA

no longer means Christian. It's in transition to something else...

Because traditional values are bad...or something.

The power behind the throne?

That's what the NYT is putting out for the guy who is one heartbeat away from the Oval Office.

Yep, the guy who makes V.P. Dan Quayle look like a scholar is the NYT savior of the Obamacy.

Or, as Mr. Weiner put it in an interview, “Biden brings everything that Rahm Emanuel brings, but the major difference is everyone likes Joe Biden.”

While Mr. Biden has credibility with the Democratic left, his long record in the Senate has enough moments in which he proved willing to work with or give ground to Republicans that they view him as less dogmatic than many other administration officials.

~snip~
Beyond his behind-the-scenes role in negotiating the tax deal with Republicans — a path that Mr. Biden and Mr. Obama decided on in a recent conversation at the White House, aides say — the vice president has also been trying to win Republican votes in the Senate for ratification of the so-called New Start nuclear arms treaty with Russia.

That background for compromise is now being put to use at the White House, from Mr. Biden’s diplomatic mission to try to soothe the angry House Democrats to his secret shuttling between his boss and the Republican Senate leader, Mitch McConnell, to iron out the tax deal.

~snip~
Once the Republicans take over the House and increase their numbers in the Senate in January, Mr. Biden’s role will widen, White House officials said, as Mr. Obama tries to capitalize on the relationships his gregarious vice president built over the course of 36 years in the Senate.

“If he’s going to try to get anything done in a partisan divide, and a divided Senate, Biden is a tremendous asset because he knows the players, the institution, and he has credibility,” said John Podesta, the chief executive of the Center for American Progress, who led Mr. Obama’s transition team after the 2008 election.

Go read the cloying rest if you want, I need to get a shovel for the cr@p that just spilled out of my monitor.
