TEOTWAWKI and pets

I've been looking at different sites for ideas if or when this whole thing goes pear shaped.

I see a lot of different scenarios, but most gloss over the whole *what do you do with your pet* thing.
We have two cats and two dogs. One dog tries to be a dog, but the other is just a fur footrest.

I could see living with them if we had enough food and water and we stayed in one place, but the dilemma is when we might have to move on foot. One cat is savvy enough that she'd be able to keep up and out of trouble- the other one is a house Tribble.
I'd be tempted to throw down a steak for the dogs and end it for them while they're doing their favorite thing.

On the other hand, should we force them to get lost (maybe) and live through the starving times in the hope that something better will come along? I don't think any of them except the cat could catch their own food, or stay out of trouble if walking free.

Any ideas, or just something for you to think about later....

Happy Easter

Some people consider him G-ds other son, but most call him Ceasar Chaves. Because the Chicago Jeezus named this C.C. Day- because there was nothing else worth celebrating today.

A blast from the past

Guess who?

hello friends,
Last year I made the decision to trust my life on the street to Second Chance body armor. I got the level IIa because it stops the most rounds. plus I got the Trauma Plate for the front.
What scares me is that, although I can fit an extra trauma plate in the front, I cannot fit a second one in back. As of late I have taken to duct-taping a second trauma plate to the area of my back where the heart and vital organs are located. Then I put my vest on.
Here is the questions. The duct tape solution, although tactically sound, is hot and painful to remove. I would like to go to the single-plate solution in back. What I am worried about is repeated hits to that area with .308 ammunition. I have a high-risk security job and I fear that I would be the target for repeated long-distance shots to my back.

In not news today

We have the admission of CNN that they quit even trying to be a news organization with their newest show- the "Kathy and Anderson Show".

Plus, someone needs to tell Lurch that it's bad for his brain to be putting too much stress on a body that has so many Purple Heart awards.
But, then again- he does seem to know more about a European game than an American one...

The Governor's a real bad-ass isn't he?

Kicking ass on zombies that would take down a normal person and kicking ass on un-dammaged people.
Must have been a real pillar of something before the Zombieclypse.

I kinda feel bad for Daryl, having to finish off Merle and all... but the world's a better place
without him.

And--WTF is with the History channel and that stupid "Vikings" BS? Seriously? A crappy, badly written soap that I couldn't stand to watch more that ten minutes of???
I hope they didn't pay too much for the writers, costumers (plywood shields??) or actors for this thing.

A tale of a texas schoolhouse

Back in 1937 there was a schoolhouse in New London, Tx which was responsible for the odor you associate with natural gas today.

On this day in 1937, a massive explosion caused the steel-framed school building in New London, in Rusk County, to collapse, killing a reported 298 people. It was the worst school disaster in United States history. Of the 500 students in the building, only about 130 escaped serious injury. The explosion, which was heard four miles away, occurred when a manual-arts teacher turned on a sanding machine and inadvertently ignited a mixture of gas and air. Three days after the explosion, inquiries were held to determine the cause of the disaster. Investigators learned that in January 1937, to save gas expenses of $300 a month, the school board and superintendent had authorized plumbers to tap a residue gas line of H. L. Hunt's Parade Gasoline Company.

After investigating, the TX Railroad Commission ordered that, because natural gas is almost unidentifiable by people without gas detectors, there be added to all domestic and utility gas an odorizer  so anyone would know when the had a gas leak.

This orodizer comes in two types, B.P. Captain and Mercaptan. Both have the sulphery smell that we now associate with gas.

A lot of people are talking about Cyprus

And the EU demand that savings be stolen to fund their bailout.

They're wondering if it will happen here, and when.
It HAS already happened here, you probably don't remember the UAW GM bailout that stole some 90% of  stockholders property and gave it to the UAW for their payoff in getting 0bama elected- do you?

The price of convenience

Yesterday, instead of searching for a set of contacts for the A/C, I got one from a tech- off his truck.
That part online was about $28 (+shipping) but they wanted $50.

I ended up going into San Antonio anyway and bought Karens birthday meal and we headed over to get brewing supplies for the next experiment in potent potables.

PLUS I filled up both trucks and still have to do the weeks shopping...........

Spring Break!

So, are the 0bama girls going to be reported on this time?

And are they going to have to give something up for the Sequester?
Just wondering because we know Barry isn't giving sh1t up to help anyone.

I say Mortimer, have you seen the Orange Juice futures?

I'm sure there's a way we could make a slight profit from them if we played our cards right.

Of course we'd have to watch out for that black con-man and the hooker...

Of course this post wouldn't be complete without some JLC boobage, would it?

Ok. No picture...

THAT tells us everything we need to know about her looks.

I was going somewhere else when I watched this video

But now I want to know- WHY John McCain (RINO-AZ) has no problem with his Chicago Jeezus killing Americans in America?

It's at the 1:20 mark, but listen to the entire shitflood coming out of his mouth:

This from the guy who lost to someone who wasn't even eligible to be president.

I guess it's a good thing

that that airfield isn't posted as a "Slow/ no wake" zone-

Hunny? I think I need a milling machine

So I can make us some goodies that the .GOV doesn't need to know about-

UPDATE to add-
The reason I actually posted this is because of what he has to say at about the 12 minute mark.

The Hitler blogs

Over at 'The Broken Patriot' another great Hitler parody with your favorite blogs listed and linked.

Remember the kid last week who nibbled a Pop-tart so it kinda resembled a pistol?

If you squinted hard and turned your head just right--who got suspended for it?

Here's some other things his school district needs to take a hard look at, and try banning:

Rule-5 video Thursday

Here's six examples of women who know what a good steak meal tastes like with all the trimmings-

AND you get a corny song straight from Czechoslovakia-

I guess NYC is a good place to try this

Anywhere else that has real men and strong women would lead to a hurting for at least one "actor".

If they did it where they have good gun laws, there'd probably be holes in that elevator.

Good-by John

It was a good party, too bad you missed it-

There was one thing missing from his 'cunning plan'

...And maybe two because he might not have been black.
-Or maybe he was, but we don't know, because there are no pics and the story won't tell.
The one thing he forgot was to get the race hustler Al Sharpton involved in the bogus kidnapping, and to accuse white NYPD Officers of sexual abuse.

Look! TANKS!

Tanks with umbrellas!

What'll those German bastagas think of next?

Sunday, March 03, 2013

Lets see how accurate I am....

In this next episode of The Walking dead--Andrea will still be naked and trying to decide whether to kill the Governor- or not.
She'll decide not to and the Governor will say something like "I was wondering where your loyalties lay...them or us".

Then he'll throw her out.

EDIT to add:
Yeah, I'd never make a Hollywood script writer- but I did know (in future episodes that the Governor is alive and well (ish).

Good morning!

So I went into town today

I went to cash a check that the .GOV doesn't need to know about.
On the way back I stopped at a pawn shop and almost bought a SMLE carbine for $230 except that the sales-people were busy with a lot of other people and I didn't see one box of .303 anywhere.

so I was on the way home when I saw...
...And said to myself- should I? It doesn't look that crowded...
Then I was turning in from the far driveway, I saw the overflow lot:
So I put $140 in the Paypal bank and came home to hoard the rest.

Happy birthday TEXAS!

...And you thought it was going to be something about the Alamo...

The UnanimousDeclaration of Independence
made by the
Delegates of the People of Texas
in General Convention
at the town of Washington
on the 2nd day of March 1836.

When a government has ceased to protect the lives, liberty and property of the people, from whom its legitimate powers are derived, and for the advancement of whose happiness it was instituted, and so far from being a guarantee for the enjoyment of those inestimable and inalienable rights, becomes an instrument in the hands of evil rulers for their oppression.
When the Federal Republican Constitution of their country, which they have sworn to support, no longer has a substantial existence, and the whole nature of their government has been forcibly changed, without their consent, from a restricted federative republic, composed of sovereign states, to a consolidated central military despotism, in which every interest is disregarded but that of the army and the priesthood, both the eternal enemies of civil liberty, the everready minions of power, and the usual instruments of tyrants.
When, long after the spirit of the constitution has departed, moderation is at length so far lost by those in power, that even the semblance of freedom is removed, and the forms themselves of the constitution discontinued, and so far from their petitions and remonstrances being regarded, the agents who bear them are thrown into dungeons, and mercenary armies sent forth to force a new government upon them at the point of the bayonet.
When, in consequence of such acts of malfeasance and abdication on the part of the government, anarchy prevails, and civil society is dissolved into its original elements. In such a crisis, the first law of nature, the right of self-preservation, the inherent and inalienable rights of the people to appeal to first principles, and take their political affairs into their own hands in extreme cases, enjoins it as a right towards themselves, and a sacred obligation to their posterity, to abolish such government, and create another in its stead, calculated to rescue them from impending dangers, and to secure their future welfare and happiness.

So I got done with my other job today

And Karen and I went to Hondo for dinner, where we found every eatery almost brimming with customers. After ending up at Pizza Hut with almost no customers (for good reason), I realized that it was March 1st and the Sequester didn't affect all those .GOV handouts today.

This brings up two important points:
1- If your old boss really needs someone to use a rock drill, it's ok to get $20/hr (cash) for sitting on a noisy machine for 8 hours.

2- That fiscal cliff we're supposed to worry about is more like a sidewalk curb.
