This reminded me of something

I was going home from W-F bank and had to stop at the light under 1604 @ Culebra when i saw a guy pan handling get a (I guess) big money handout when he headed to the parking lot of a big name pharmacy on the corner.
I didn't see "what" he did with the money, but about the time it would take to unlock a door and toss money in then come back down- was about the time he was gone.

When the light turned green, all I saw at the corner was a newer model Chevy Suburban and a scruffy looking pan handler coming down the embankment.

...but I've been told that looking like a bum at a street light is worth around $150 a day tax free.

I wonder if I could get away with it....

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Naww, I'm just too honest.

  1. A few years back a Chicago paper did a story on a guy who lived in Lake Forest, with a nice big house and a family. Every morning he would get on the commuter train to Chicago, and spend the day playing homeless bum. Supposedly got enough cash to live in one of Chitown's snootiest suburbs that way.

  2. When I worked at the Detox unit in Bexar county the panhandlers always told us they would come in for detox when their habits got over **$700/day**, because that was the most they could reliably get panhandling.
