I had a C&R for a while. There were a couple of firearms that I wanted to get on the list, and thought it would be interesting to get the license and get them myself. I had to wait so long for the processing of the license that I ended up picking the guns up through an FFL before I was ever granted the paper to do it on my own.
I let it lapse when it came time to renew. My local FFL is awesome and cheap (great combo). If I didn't have access to someone like him, though, I might go through the process again.
