Condi is going to try for a permanent peace

The UN wants a permanent peace, too.

I can only see three ways to achieve a permanent peace in regards to Israel in the Mid-east:

1) Let Israel finish the job.

2) Where are you going to put them

This time?

3) OR, Koffi------------
would THIS be easier?

No, I'm sure they won't meekly walk into the showers this time.
As a matter of fact, Koffi- that's why they're fighting right now. To stop you Anti-Semites from pushing them into the showers.

You Jew haters in the UN and Old Europe have some hard choices to make.

NOTE-
I was thinking of using even more graphic pictures, but didn't want to offend anyone too much. Also I didn't want to increase my hits by islamo-Nazis who'd abuse themseves with glee.

Curiouser and curiouser

I'm sure you've heard about the Qana building collapse.
The one that supposedly killed around 50 "innocent" civilions.

Have you heard about the 8 hour delay between the attack and the collapse?

Israel hit it at around Midnight and it collapsed around 8AM.
I know those "Freedom Fifgters" are tenacious "Minute Men" of the Islamic Crusade, but why were there so many alleged children in that dammaged building?

Not that you'll hear of this during the accusations of Irael from the MSM.

Thanks Allah

I found the cure for global warming!

Yes, I did. It hit me yesterday as I was backwashing all the butterflies out of Karens radiator.

See I'm going to use the same kind of science as AlGore and the rest of the global warming climat change crowd.

See both of us agree that Air conditioning is a great contributor to global warming.
THEY say it's the CFCs destroying the Ozon layer. That might be, but I think it's a lot closer to home.

Have you ever stood next to a working air conditioner exhaust? Hot isn't it?
You've seen or heard about the "Heat Islands" that must cities are, I'm sure. They say it's the heat storage of the concrete and asphalt that makes cities.
No, it's all the air conditioners working and spewing that overheated air out into the world.

The Libs are always telling us that we're producing more 'Global warming' than any other first world country- right? We've also got more air conditioners than anyone else- per capita. Even out poor people have air conditioners.

So My solution is..............

Are you ready?

It's really simple.........

Lets get all these Global warming alarmists to disconnect their A/C's!
Everyone who believes in global warming does without A/C.

Al Gore can start first, and all the other outspoken Hollywood spokesflacks. I'd like to see Barbra Streisand, George Clooney, Darryl Hanna, Joan Baez, or any of those other Hypocritical elitists pull up in their limos with the windows down and sweat streaming down their faces.

I got this in my mail

I didn't do a Snopes on it, but I like what it says:

I don't mean to go off on a rant here, but here's the bottom line, I want my country back.

I want my kids to be able to walk to the store or walk to school without being abducted by some 3-time convicted child molester. And the politically correct powers that be in this country just can't seem to get over themselves with "CAN'T WE JUST HELP THIS PERSON!" No! You can't. But they're let loose to prey on more children. I want my kids back.

I want my country back.

I don't agree with everything this President does. I've never agreed with anything 100% that any President has done or said.

You know, I was very young during the Vietnam War. So I probably missed that thing by a hair. I don't know whether I would have agreed with that or not at the time. I was too stupid to have an opinion at that point and time even though I thought I did.

I want my country back.

I want some semblance of respect for authority, whether I agree with it all or not.

I want the Boy Scouts to be "boy" scouts, not boy and "we think she's a girl" scouts. I want Girl Scouts to be "girl" scouts not Girl Scouts and "Bruce."

I want my country back.

I want to be able to wake up in the morning knowing that I can walk outside without some gang-banger on parole taking my life.

Or being able to go down and purchase a car without having to worry about you know 90% of the parts being made overseas in some sweatshop.

I want my politicians, when they finally do get my vote, to do what the hell they said they were going to do in the first place.

I want the Abramoff's of the world to be labeled what they....nothing more than organized crime in a better suit.

I want people to say something and when they say something look at me in the eye. And mean what they say. Not say what they think I want to hear.
And then do what they want to later politically or any other way.

I want to be able to go out and work and make a decent wage and buy a home. Half the people that are listening to me right now can't even afford to buy a house unless they're working three jobs.

And I want America to be America. All of those opportunities, all of those things that made her great, I want those returned to the forefront. If you want to come to this country we welcome you with open arms. We simply ask that you abide by our laws. I don't want you to snub your nose at our laws, then take advantage of our opportunities, and then cling to the constitution most of which you can't even read because you don't speak the language.

I want us to secure our borders because the country is worth securing. The people that live here are worth protecting.

I want my country back.

I want my children back. I want some semblance of what this country used to be.

It's worth protecting. It's worth defending. I don't recognize this country anymore.

Not politically, not philosophically, not spiritually.

Whether you like it or whether you don't, God was a part of building this great nation. To remove him is to take away the very foundation of what this country was all about.

I don't care about your political correctness!

I don't want to know your sexual preference!

I could care less about all of that. Stop making it the headline of the day!

That's not America.

I want my country back!

And the only way I'm ever going to be able to get this country back is if I reach out to the brothers and the sisters that all feel the same way and we say "Hell No! You can't have our country. " It's not for sale!
Take the price tag off this country!

Take the price tag off the heads of our children! Stop it already!

The politically-correct-psychobabble-hug-a-tree-experts ~~ You are not qualified to release sex offenders back into our neighborhoods.

The southern border, more than any other border, needs to be secured tomorrow. For all those that wish to come to this country to take advantage of her opportunity, to live under a constitution~ a living document that breathes in and out just like you do~ this country is not for sale. I should know. I'm one of the owners. You can't sell it without my permission.

I want my country back!

This plea kinda caught my attention

I linked it from Texas Freds.

Red Cross Asks for $81 Million for Lebanon
GENEVA (AP) - The international Red Cross appealed Friday for $81 million to help victims of the fighting in Lebanon. Life is becoming "unbearably dangerous" for civilians who have been trapped by the violence, the International Committee of the Red Cross said.

Resources and access to water and basic services are also very limited, the ICRC said in a statement, while medical evacuations and aid operations are very difficult and cannot meet the population's needs.

"In southern Lebanon, the No. 1 issue today is ensuring the safety of civilians and securing safe access for those engaged in medical and other humanitarian activities," said Pierre Kraehenbuehl, the ICRC's director of operations.

"At the same time, the damage to civilian infrastructure and the country's economy, coupled with the large-scale displacement of civilians, requires an emergency response that is likely to extend into next year," Kraehenbuehl said.

"The effects of the military operations mean that life for the remaining civilian population trapped by the fighting is rapidly becoming unbearable and the suffering excessive," Kraehenbuehl told reporters at the organization's Geneva headquarters.

The ICRC's top priority in southern Lebanon is ensuring the safety of civilians and securing safe access for those engaged in medical and other humanitarian activities, he said.

Ok, I can understand them wanting to help, BUT-
Don't they have other things on their plate besides aiding the same people who helped cause the problem in the first place? he ones who STAYED behind? The ones who rented rooms for rocket storage? I know that there's been tsunamis and earthquakes in Asia lately, not to mention refugees starving in Africa.

The U.N. refugee agency said Friday it was hoping to send 550 tons of bedding, cooking equipment and other emergency supplies from Damascus to Beirut by early next week.

Security and logistics issues have prevented the aid from crossing the Syrian-Lebanese border for about a week, but these issues are being resolved, said Jennifer Pagonis, a spokeswoman for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva.

The convoy is part of a joint effort by U.N. aid organizations to help meet the needs of up to 800,000 displaced people in Lebanon - one-fifth of the population.

The World Food Program said it was coordinating three aid convoys to southern Lebanon.

The agency hopes to increase shipments to two convoys per day by next week, said WFP spokeswoman Christiane Berthiaume.

Did you get that? Damascus, Syria to Beirut. Wouldn't it be more time and cost effective to use a ship?
I'd think so, but then I'm not planning to use relief convoys to resupply Hizb'allah terrorists who target REAL civilians. Who aren't staying in place to be human shields.

Good thing it wasn't a HATE crime

An islamo-Klansman goes into a Jewish community center and guns down 6 Jews- one pregnant.
That's ok, because they deserved it, being Jews and all.
Right Koffi?
It's OK for the Arab version of the KKK to go around killing innocent Jews wherever they are- but as soon as they get their back up, you and the rest of the Anti-semetic UN and old Europe want to tie their hands to protect your terrorists. Impose a cease-fire for your terrorist pals to rest and rearm.

We're seeing plenty of pictures and videos lately about the complete complicty of the UN and islamo-Terrorists in killing Israelis. The UN guests co-habitors of Observation Posts with their Hisb'allah hosts?

Sorry for getting off track.
So, we have six people who happen to be Jews shot -one killed- by an intolorant islamist.

In Seattle Washington.
The Left coast.
Who has a population almost as Liberal as Cali.
I haven't heard a word about any HATE CRIME,,, because the moslem gets a pass from the Anti-Semitic left.
Again.
I bet today, maybe tomorrow is the last you hear about this as the Legacy Media sweep this away as soon as they can. Because it might raise some inconvienient question about the lack of outrage anywhere.

But it's ok because they are Jews, always have been trouble makers trying to stay alive and all.

BTW, the cops are protecting Seattle mosques now, just to protect the "moderate" moslems from 'retribution' from the EVIL Jew.
Because, you know islam is a 'Religion of....................
Cr@p, I'm not even going to finish that lie.

UPDATE-
Well, I was wrong. Looks like the authorities are looking at it as a hate crime. BUT, he not only wan't inluenced by his 'religion' he was also MENTALLY DAMMAGED. So our MSM comes through to defend the indefensable- yet again.

Grab some popcorn

and watch my first video

It doesn't have the BOOM that it really makes though darnit!

Lets all step into our personal wayback machines

Now set it for the last time you worked for minimum wage.

Ready?

GO!

Mine stopped back when I was in High school, sill living with my parents. You might also make the argument that based on the salary VS working hours that my Navy time was minimum wage, too.
No, that was training for the real world.

It looks like not only are the Dems going to raise the minimum wage, but now the Republicans are too. I really don't understand this,,,,,,,,,,,pandering.
I do, but the adults working for minimum wage aren't exactly the kind of people who'd have the initiative to go vote anyway. No matter HOW easy you make it for them- but that's another rant.

Any adult that's been in the workforce more than a couple years and is STILL working for the Federal minimum wage needs to sit down and try to figure out where their life went wrong, and how to fix it.

Bill Millers BBQ is starting servers out at $7.25 in San Antonio
Mc Donalds was already paying $6.50 back in the late 80's
You can fine tune wages here, I took an average starting job with 0 experience and a H.S. diploma in San Antonio:
An amusement park attendant average $7.70
A lumberyard worker averages $12.31
This Cashier in a department store gets about $8.14

I could go with more examples, but the site is pretty slow. You can check it out jobs using the "what if" tag on the left side.
I had a H.S. diploma from Lee H.S. (this IS the south- besides it's easier to type) and zero years of experience if you want to find a wage.

What -if anything will that bill to raise the minimum wage to $7.25 have on any of those jobs?
Lots of entry level jobs are screaming for workers, and so the entry wage shows it.
Nobody (except Democrats) expects you to raise and support a family on an entry level job.

I've said it before, anyone who's a reasonably decent worker who shows up on time won't be making their starting pay before too long. If you're a 30-something slacker with a minimum paying job, dude- you need to make a change.

I've gone through a lot of jobs, but each one was either at a higher wage, or the benefits made it worthwhile. Now, I'm driving a tanker at night delivering corn sugar, making $xx per load and making a pretty good paycheck for 4- 6 hours work per nite. It'll be better when we get moved to Hondo.

I know it's just political pandering, but still- if you can't work yourself out of a minimum wage job; don't expect any sympathy from me. Oh, and pull your pants up, get that ring out of your lip and turn down that vile rap.

Just a suggestion because, you know I care.

More on the UN outpost attack

From where I sit it looks like a case of "he said-she said" in regards to what really went on.
It also looks like some @ss covering and a chance for a notably anti-Semitic organization to try to stab Israel. Again.

First today's Examiner says that the UN claims that they were asking Israel to stop attacking them for 10 hours.

JERUSALEM - U.N. observers in Lebanon telephoned the Israeli military 10 times in six hours to ask it to stop shelling near their position before an attack killed four observers and sparked international anger with Israel, U.N. officials said Wednesday.

The U.N. observation post near Khiam came under close Israeli fire 21 times Tuesday - including 12 hits within 100 yards and five direct hits from 1:20 p.m. until the peacekeepers' post was destroyed at 7:30 p.m., Jane Lute, assistant secretary-general for peacekeeping, told the U.N. Security Council in New York.

U.N. officials said Hezbollah militants had been operating in the area of the post near the eastern end of the border with Israel, a routine tactic to prevent Israel from attacking them.

"We did repeatedly in recent days say (to Israel) that this was an exposed position, that Hezbollah militants were 500 meters (yards) away shielding themselves near U.N. workers and civilians," U.N. humanitarian chief Jan Egeland said. "That's why it is so inexplicable that what happened."

~snip~

Officials in the outpost called the Israeli army 10 times during those six hours, and each time an army official promised to have the bombing stopped, according to a preliminary U.N. report on the incident, which was shown to an Associated Press reporter on Wednesday.

Once it became clear those pleas were being ignored, the force's commander sought the involvement of top officials in New York, a senior U.N. official in New York said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the investigation of the incident was not yet complete.

U.N. Deputy Secretary-General Mark Malloch Brown and Lute herself then made several calls to Israel's U.N. mission "reiterating these protests and calling for an abatement of the shelling," Lute said.

The bombing put Israel on the defensive two weeks into its campaign against Hezbollah guerrillas in southern Lebanon
. Just like they hoped it would.

So here we have a notoriously anti-Israel organization making claims and investigation entirely anonymously.

I wonder if in their 'investigation' they'll have any mention of this e-mail from one of the Canadian soldiers who was killed in that bunker? I had to look hard for it because I have to rely on the liberally biased major search engines out there. I am also kind of surprised that CNN didn't purge this bit of exonerating evidence from their site.

It's a longish e-mail from Canadian Major Praeta Hess-von Kruedener- who died in the UN outpost- giving a thumbnail history of his outpost.

I'll let you read the body at your convenience, but give you the money quote here:

What I can tell you is this: we have on a daily basis had numerous occasions where our position has come under direct or indirect fire from both artillery and aerial bombing. The closest artillery has landed within 2 meters of our position and the closest 1000 lb aerial bomb has landed 100 meters from our patrol base.
This has not been deliberate targeting, but has rather been due to tactical necessity.
I thank you for the opportunity to provide you with some information from the front lines here in south Lebanon.

Maj Hess-von Kruedener

Hmmmmm

I think I have some software issues with my laptop.
I installed the software for the Logitech Quickcam on it. I took it to the range to bring you some real, live blackpowder p0rn, but it didn't want to work. Said it needed an update to work.

Cr@p! Ok, I need to go back home to download the thing. I got home, and everytime I try to download, it "encounters a problem".
Ok, I'll uninstall it and have another go.
Put the CD in and tell in to uninstall itself, so it goes through the noise and motion- including restarting it's self.

The Logitech and PealPlayer are still on my desktop.

Well, let me try "repairing" it.
Wish me luck. Oh, it worked on 'Danica's' computer yesterday-an IBM Thinkpad 2000.

UPDATE- That sucks, sorry ligos.com also known as Indeo. You tell me I need to BUY a $14.95 download to make a cam work on that HP Pavillion? It worked before without it.

So, as the Mexicans say "Lo f*ckin' siento, buddy", I'll use my other computers.

You'd think that after I bought the software for my Logitech (ok, 4 years ago) that they'd have somekind of free patch to make it work without ponying up $15 dollars for a one-time use.
And the codec is made by Intel- for pros.
That's just too f*cking bad that I'll go out of my way now NOT to buy anything I have a choice in regarding Indeo or anything else Intel.

Thanks for nothing geeks!

UPDATED UPDATE- All I had to do was go the the Logitech site and download the updated drivers for the cam- after I downloaded the outdated everything else.
NOW I can use the HP for pics, too. It's too bad that it's battery has a life of about 10 minutes anymore.

I wonder who came up with this idea?

I was surfing around, looking for cutting board designs I couls steal use and saw this brilliant idea. I guess the idea is to keep the raw meat from contaminating the veggies. Good idea, right? That's why people use more than one cutting board, or wash between the different ingrediants. I'm a washer :-D

Anyway, these brains decided to sell a "Two-in-one" cutting board. The idea? You cut the meat and flip it over to cut the veggies. What if you did the salad veggies then did the chicken- and then flipped it over again for the finger food?

Do you use the same knife when swapping out the chicken for raw veggies?
What about cleaning up the chicken juice? If you're going to clean the counter, why not the board, too?
I'd hate to learn too late that I ate something that was prepaired on a two-for-one board,,,,urp.......skews me.

That's Atlas???

Wow- I'm going to have to blogroll her.
And here I thought the writer of Atlas Shrugs was some wrinkled old Ayan Rand Geek, heating his soup cans over a hot plate.

Boy was I ever wrong.

5 and a half minutes of conservative babe.

I'd link it, but the you-tubes islamo members decided it could hurt you- so I used my membership to bring it to you unsuspecting people.

It IS SFW, darn it.

And yes, I'm a sexist pig. Aren't conservatives supposed to be?

thanks to a new blogroll menber "OX"

Koffi's upset that his O.P. got hit

Maybe the Israelis were confused

Yes that's what a Hizb'allah flag looks like.
According to the two flag elivations, it looks like they're the ones in charge, too.

Stolen from Paw Paw who'll go onto my blogroll

Have we got any betting men of wimmin here?

I'm just curious on the odds I get for a reply to my female Senator.

Here's a copy of the mail I sent to the Senator from Texas- it says 'Dear Senator Hutch--' (but I bet in HER inbox it says "The Honerable, and majestic,,,)

I see that you in the Senate still don't get it.
Anything that lets illegals stay in the country is a reward for breaking our laws.

I have a legal immigrant wife- 3 years and about $3000 her and her two daughters have their green cards.

I hear alot of these illegals who have been here for 15 to 20 years.
If they've been here -and I assume they've been back to Mexico in that time- why haven't they applied for LEGAL status when they could provide the Mexican postmarks, and other legal nessesities?

These people don't WANT to become citzens, or they would have put in the paperwork to get it started.
All most of these people want to do is get what they can from America. This includes Food Stamps, Section 8, SSI, unemployment, and all the other social welfare payments that LEGAL taxpayers are responsible for. I hope you notice that I didn't even mention the LEGAL costs associated with our flood of theivs, rapists and murderers who walk away with a slap on the wrist,,, IF they're even caught.

And to answer your automatic question- NO we can't deport them all. IF the existing laws were enforced, and they didn't have a TAXPAYER supported welfare system, they'd mostly all go back to where they came from.

Some might immigrate to Mexico to "Do the jobs that Mexicans won't do".

If you keep up trying to do what you know in your heart is wrong- please don't be surprized if your next election is much closer than you'd want it. Because some how Americans muddle through the stockpens and can see the difference between a self serving polititian and an honest person.

I belive that anyway- you've been in DC long enough to know that all it takes is to fool enough people to vote for you "this" time.

A fed-up conservative

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, who want's to bid on ANY reply?

None?

ok, a reply within a month? 2 to 1 odds...

2 months?

I'm still waiting on the one I sent them all about being toadies to their big money almost a year ago.

So it all comes down to money, doesn't it?

If I remember my Bible correctly, it says something about 'The love of money being the root of all evil'.
I wonder if that has anything to do with this?

Or do islamists love death-with-honor more than 'Dane gelt'?

Fake, but accurate 7.06

I was going to lift this 18+ minute You-Tube video from the source, but decided to kiss the little guys butt. He and Allah 1.0 (the first Allahblog) are about the only two 'big' bloggers that blogrolled me.

This video is a bit dated, but it's probably a good representation of how the MSM is still operating today. Same scenes, different country.

If you watch it, you'll notice the (accidental- I'm sure) 60 minutes theme that would have never aired there. As part of the video, get something to drink -no, not at work- and do a shot everytime you see a UN ambulance pull up. As an additional goodie- take a good swig every time they drop the "corpse".

And speaking of the UN, I see Israel took out a forward OP for Hizb'allah. It's just too bad the talkers were in the UN babyblue helmets.
I'm sure they were spotting for the Iranians terrorists just like they've done in every war they've been involved in. Helping the bad guy.

Tuesday, July 25, 2006

Wait-a-minute here

Can someone please explain just WHY it's Americas responsibility to stop the Hizb'allah from getting their @sses handed to them by the Israelis? Almost everywhere I look I see calls for America to stop the fighting, or enforce a cease-fire. WHY?

It seems that every time the UN or some other global body drops it, everyone starts crying for America to fix the problem. Every time we go in to try to help, we get dumped on and second guessed, and stabbed in the back; then the rest of the world has a go at us.

The UN's been aiding the enemies of both Israel and the US for ,,,,ummm- ever- both actively and by inaction. We get accused when we do something, and when we don't we're accused of "allowing" IT to happen, whatever IT is this time.

I'm really getting tired of being burnt every time we pull someone else's fat out of the fire.

You Arabs have been feeding this thing for 2000 years, YOU reign-in your dogs! We'll just keep supplying Israel the means to defend herself.

Israel,NATO and the Legacy media

It looks like the only way the Israelis are going to stop defending themselves is if NATO can be convinced to come in. I understand that. The UN has been in Lebanon for 20 plus years, and have looked away, or allowed the Hisb'allah terrorists to use their uniforms and equipment to attack Israel with impunity.

The UN was supposed to enforce UN Security resolution 1559 over two years ago. This was the one that was supposed to have Hizb'allah disarm. Instead they shared the same headquarters buildings and -as usual- ignored the UN and it's inflated sense of ...adequacy.

Now Israel wants NATO to enforce the peace. I can understand why- NATO has a track record of actually ACCOMPLISHING something. They're in Afghanistan tracking down terrorists, Bosnia/Kosovo (which isn't a quagmire even though Bill Clinton told us we'd be out by Christmas) .

It looks like the antisemetic islamophile evenhanded Legacy media is telling everyone that NATO is over burdened with what's going on in the world today, that their commitments won't let them do the UNs' job for them (again). Well according to this 2004 NATO assessment, they look like they're nowhere near as bad as the MSM wants us to believe.

I know, I know. If NATO goes in then the terrorists will actually HAVE TO stop indiscriminately sending missiles into civilian neighborhoods., and stop everything else the UN has let them get away with for decades.

Now, THIS is a Hispanic group I can support

We've all had it up to *here* with these illegals marching in the streets demanding "rights".
All Americans are getting fed up with them, even our patriotic Americans of Mexican descent. They're so fed-up that they started their own site- You Don't speak for me.

In spite of the Legacy Media and the D.C. pols, Americans of Hispanic descent aren't all anti-American MeCHa supporters. I'd hazard a guess that the majority of Hispanic Texans (that aren't mujado's) are more patriotic than than either the east coast or the left.

Lets see if we bloggers can get these people up for some well deserved publicity.

H/T to Guy

Only one Republican voted against Israel

Both the House and Senate had a resolution in support of Israel Friday.

In the Senate (surprisingly) it was unanimous in support of Israel. Yes even the Dems voted for it.

But in the House, among those 7 Dems who'll take over in November *coff* voting against Israel was a Republican from Texas. His Name is Ron Paul, which is surprising since he is usually a reliable conservative vote.

I do have to admit that the Senate Dems did show some backbone in that vote, it supported both Israel and Bush's idea to support Israel. That won't go down well with their base. I can already hear them making excuses nuances for their vote. Especially John Kerry, because he knows combat, since he was in Viet Nam, ya Know.

Oh, daym- I am sooo busted

I just got an e-mail.

It's from abuse@gov.us telling me that I've been surfing illegal sites.

It's in my hotmail junkmail.

It contains an attatchment called 'judge.exe' (I think that's a virus)

I just thought I'd let you know before I deleted it.

Some quick thoughts on the Israeli war on terrorism

We have all these people trying to get out of Lebanon. The American embassy was surprised at how many wanted out. I'm not. They went in -in spite of a State Department warning- under their arab passports because they didn't want to be known as American. Until they needed to use them (American passports). Then -as usual-Bush was attacked for enforcing what the Congress passed; the 'pay the government back' thing. On top of the B.S. about the "extreme" time lag.

I've heard our hawks say we need to do more for Israel than just supply them with anything they need. That we need to go in and help them on the ground. No, we don't.; all we'd do is get in their way. They know what they're doing, they saw this coming as soon as they left both Gaza and Lebanon.

I'm really getting tired of the Legacy Media siding with the same terrorists that killed 240 Sailors and Marines in Beirut- then we bugged out, which is part of the reason we're in this cr@p today. Still, the Liberal media is as usual, attacking anyone who is against an enemy of the U.S.

Now we have 'Peace envoys' starting to go over there. If they go, fine- let them go tell Iran and Syria to lay down their cards and leave the table--NOW!!! Let the Israelis take care of the trash. Even the rest of the M.E. is getting tired of the trash on Israel's border.

As nice as it is to contemplate a nice glowing green field of glass in Tehran, we need to keep the high ground. We did it twice, under extreme circumstances; we don't need now, to throw away our well deserved reputation for restraint.

The U.N. 'Peace keepers'- that's a whole 'nother rant. There are plenty of pictures that show the Hisb'allah flag right next to the UN peace flag. They did absolutely NOTHING- as usual to enforce their disarmament resolution (1559), except to look away. Now Koffi Anon wants to protect his terrorists -again from their just rewards.

Anyone hear about the advance Russian anti-tank missiles the Israelis are finding? The Chinese cr@p? Now, does anyone doubt their 'humanitarian' instincts in the M.E.? Yeah, they don't want to cause any conflicts by siding with any peace pressure group.

Now that Israel is kicking @ss and killing the terrorists that have been attacking them- even after ALL their peace gestures- notice who is crying about 'innocent civilian casualties'? Well, you use women and children for shields, they get hurt and killed- no matter how well aimed Israel's arms are. Besides, they're the ones who let you build your bunkers hospitals, mosques and schools in their midst.

WHY didn't they tell me when they did it?

I've been banned in India, just like my hero, Dr. Rusty.
Yep, I've been banned!

Well, so has all of Blogspot.
If I would have known that I could get my 'street cred' by just talking bad about a 'religion of piss' than I'd have done it alot earlier.

Since, ya know- now we all know that the muhammedine make the rules in India. They don't want to be giving those pedophiliac worshipers any more excuse to murder and maim innocent women and children than they have now.

You know, they're alive.

Sorry Ghandi, your peaceful resistance worked with a civilized British empire, but it won't work with muHAMedines who don't value human life---except for certain hatmongers who were exiled from britain and stick in Lebenon. See if you practice peacefull resistance with moslems- it makes it alot easier to kill you.

Hey, who all here goes to MySpace?

If you do, you really need to run some anti-spyware programs.

It comes to light that MySpace installs ads without running them through any filters and one of their banner ads has infected over 1 million computers with adware and spyware.

I was wondering why my Ad-Aware was comming up with critical objects in their scans. Now I know.

If you don't have any protection against spyware, here are two free downloads.
I use Ad-Aware because it takes less space on my hard drive. I know, with these giga-drives 2 meg isn't a drop in the bucket, but I'm old fasioned that way.

The other freeware that works well is SpyBot.
Just as a kind of 'pre-sweep' I also use Spyware Blaster, to help keep from getting it in the frist place.

If you haven't used either of those spyware scans, you'll be suprized at how much baggage you're lugging around- for all the world to see.

This is why I don't watch CNN

This is why I don't even have it programmed into my TVs.

If you observe closely you'll notice the unjudgemental and non-partisan stance of Solidad Obrien.

OK, sorry........It's CNN, c'mon, did you REALLY think she's be objective?

CAUTION---Snakehead warning, also lots of doubletalk and misrepresentations.
It's also about 7 minuts too long for my taste.

Irrelevant ideas I got on the way home

Yes, I'm home already, I only had 3 loads.
That takes about 4 hours and I make almost as much as I was doing an 8 hour day. I'm getting spoiled, I just wonder how my hours are going to change when we move to Hondo and a 3 hour round trip per load?
They said the pay would be going up to compensate for the decreased loads, but it's really easy to get used to 6 hour days even though the DoT says I can work for 14 hours (on duty)- and I don't know if a 50 mi. one-way trip is "local" anymore? If it's not, then we're down to 10 hours driving time.
Our new trucks will be here in about 5 weeks, we were going to get Macs- but the owner kept getting put off. Now we're getting International Eagles except in the day cab style.

All these Leftarded Journalists who are starting to let their anti-semitism leak through,,, I'm just wondering when one of them is going to say that Israel is 'destroying ireplacable historical artifacts", or whatever- not that there is anything worth saving from hizb'allah rockets in Irael.

All anyone has to do is step back and take a good look at the Liberal anti-semitism and their glorification of most -ism's (socialism, communism, atheism, , , etc.) and wonder why Jews generally vote for them. The Republicans have stood behind Israel, while the Democrats have usually cheered on the terrorist side. I just can't fathom why one would support someone who hates me so much. But then again, I'm a conservative, and aren't as NUANCED as those on the Left.

I'm wondering if it's possible to set up a site to sell Mesquite kitchen stuff like I saw on an offshoot of "food Network" kitchen implements. They got some good (for me) prices on stirrers, spatulas, cutting boards, and the like that I could do for alot less. I guess it's one of those "ya gotta know someone- first" things.

Y'all need to go check out the blogs at Town Hall if you want to surf some conservative blogs. I'd think about moving, but I'm not good enough.

Working a light night shift is kinda like being unemployed exept for a good paycheck, and a 90 minute round trip commute. I have all day to do nothing but wait for my 3:30 call with my loads for the night starting around 7.

You're off for the weekend?

Good!
Now you have time to try out these time wasters.

Since it's Friday, a little drinking game wouldn't be a bad way to start.

Then, naturally on Saturday you'll want to do something in the way of fishing.
Or if that doesn't intrest you, how about a round of challenging golf?

On Sunday, naturally you're going to have to pay for what you did Friday.

Then back to your day job of splitting atoms for the rest of the week.

Did you feel it?

Today was "World jump day", where everyone was supposed to jump at the same time to push the Earth to a "safer" orbit.

I was going to blow this off until I saw this link to conservative hottie on trampoline!

If you don't watch, you'll never know what the tree-huggers think about it.

No spoilers this time- and yes, unfortunately it is SFW.

SCIENCE

Fun stuff to do with household objects:

Suck an egg into a bottle.

Play with light bulbs.

Kitty gravety experiments.

Syria blowing off the UN?

I have FoxNews in the background. John Bolton is holding a press confrence and answering questions about the inability of the UN to do anything about Lebenon and Syria.

Will anyone NOW realize just how much of a moneywasting clusterf*ck the UN really is?
Is there a way we can send them the way the League of Nations went? At least in the LoN we didn't flush billions of dollars propping up corrupt dictiphiles.

Can anyone tell me when the UN really did something that REALLY helped humanity? Darfur? Somallia? Liberia (and the triggerhappy French troops)? The Ivroy coast? Hootsi's and Tootsies? Bosnia? the Tsunami(s) in Asia?
Lets go back to the Korean war, when they were telegraphing our moves to the NorKs. The oil for fraud program? Vetting obviously flawed elections in South America, and condemming ours when alGore lost? 27 UN resolutions against Sadaam?

I don't mean the immediate gratification of beureaucrats in setting-up their luxury suites wherever they go, or the sex-for-food in the refugee camps. I mean real, concrete advances in the human condition.
Eradicate Malaia carrying mosquitos? Nope, DDT is BAaaad, here are mosquito nets. No home to use them in, too bad-we offered.
Use surplus US Military dysentary vaccine to help peasents in South America? Nope, what's good for Americas soldiers isn't good enought for someone who's never had indoor plumbing.

Put a dent in the slave trade? Ask the slavers in charge of the Human Rights Commission.

Even little things can have a big impact

For those that don't know, the Jawa report has been banned in India because of the crackdown on,,, ummmmm,,,,,, well things offensive to pedeaphiliacs.
It would seem the "religion" of piss has been offended by the Jawas in the past, so the Indian watchdogs decided to try to pacify them by banning all things Jawa- because you know, being a religion of piss and withholding death and mutilation is mutually exclusive.

In case you haven't been there lately, you need to take a look at his exposing things islam, and their undermining of pax Gaia.

Dr. Rusty Shackleford takes on islamofasciests

I got your back, Rusty

As you know, I don't usually get behind these things, but I'm getting tired of intolerant, selfrightious @ssholes telling people what they can and can't say.

When is torture NOT torture?

I guess some can pick and choose what is and isn't torture depending on the situation involved.

Kinda like the "situational ethics" that the Left loves to practice.

I was reading a post from Trailmix about Gitmo, and remembered what I heard last night.
Now remember how we're hearing about terrorists detainees being confined in a room listening to excruciatinly bad music at an "excessive" volume for hours at a time?
That's their defenition of tourture.

I was coming back from delivering a load last night near the SBC center (if you know San ANtonio, you know what kind of neighborhood that is), when I heard it.

I was driving a noisy '92 Kenworth with the with the windows up and the A/C on max when I heard this car with two kids hopping around on the seats. It wasn't bad mufflers, it was rap so loud that it shook my drivers door when she passed me.

Two individuals confined, being forced to listen to excuciatingly bad music vile noise for hours at a time. I know from the look of the car, and the neigborhood that we taxpayers are going to be footing the bill for hearing aids for these toddlers (and millions of others) after their hearing is permanently dammaged by mom.

Where are the "careing" Liberals who only want to "protect" the children- and the international human rights con artists organizations who's sole mission is to protect the weak against those in power?

You J. R.R. Tolkien purists may want to avoid this video

Really!

It looks like Jack Blacks brother is in it.

You have been warned!

AND as a further warning, this could be labled "Adult situations"

Ok, if you just HAVE to...

Don't blame me,

You clicked on it.

I've got a history book sitting on the shelf

I haven't looked at in far too long.

I keep hearing about how Israel is infringing on historically moslem land, and that they (the Jews) don't belong there.

This book is several hundred pages long- at least. It has alot to say about how the Jews lived, and names names of the towns they lived in. You see these cities, towns and territories a lot lately in the news.

The thing it doesn't mention is the ones claiming the land that the Jews have held historically, the moslems aren't mentioned at all- really, since their pedephile profet prophet didn't create his sect untill 7 centuries had passed after the second part of my history book was written.

If you have any interest in where my history book places the Jews, you can look here, or maybe you have one you haven't looked at in too long also- up on your shelf somewhere.

AND as a note to my Liberal visitors, that book describes evolution in BunnyTime. Just remember, next time a subspecies of three die off, it's not pollution, it's evolution!

Blogroll update

I've added and subtracted from my blogroll.

Sorry, I can't remember who all I added, so no links in this post, you'll have to look.

Alot of the new ones are on the bottom of the list. I didn't put them there, though.
Something about their site won't tell Blogrolling that the've posted. I don't know enough about the internet to tellyou what to do, just wanted y'all to know that Blogrolling has an update form, if you're interested.

Maybe you don't have a Blogroll account? If you do, and it's not upating, sorry, you stay at the bottom- I'm not geek enough to figure out how to get you auto-updated.

Another view on Innocent Civilian Targets in Lebanon

We've all heard about Israel "intentionally targeting" civilian infrastructure in Gaza and Lebanon, right?

Ohhh the humanity......

There IS another way to look at it, one that you'll (probably) never see in the Legacy media- that of Israel. I look at Gaza as an armed, hostile enemy camp. I have pretty much since it dawned on me that no matter what Carter, Ford, Reagan, Clinton or Bush did- that they'd ALWAYS end up gladly sending their own children to blow up busses and schools just to start up the cr@p all over again.

Any way, back to Lebanon.

I'd like to remind y'all that wayyyy back at the start of all this, Israel dropped fliers telling civilians to evacuate for their own safety. I know it's been a week, and Americans have a REALLY short term memory- but it did happen. Really. Israel did tell them to get out.

Contrary to the MSM's anti-Semitic views, here is a view from the those who got tired of being on the receiving end of Islamic terror:

...Morally equivocation, since they believe Israel is targeting civilian targets, there is no moral difference between what they and Hezbollah are doing. Let me make is a little clearer to the dense out there.

Israel is NOT targeting civilian infrastructure. You might be referring to the Beirut airport. A little fyi on the rules of war. Once a civilian structure is being used for military purposes, it is no longer civilian. Hezbollah has repeatedly used the airport to receive weapons, ammunition, and strategic materials. They may have also attempted to use the airport to transport the kidnapped soldiers. Therefore, the airport is a legitimate military target.

Hezbollah has been using the roads and bridges connecting Lebanon to Damascus and north-south Lebanon roads to also transport weapons and goods from Syria, and there was positive intelligence that Hezbollah was planning to transfer the kidnapped soldiers from Lebanon to Iran via Syria. Therefore, the roads are legitimate military targets, not civilian infrastructures.

Making the claim that Israel is targeting civilian infrastructure would be the same as accusing the Allied Forces, during WWII, of targeting civilian infrastructure when they bombed German rail-road tracks. On one hand, the tracks were being used for civilian purposes. On the other hand, the German and Nazi forces were using the tracks to transport weapons, supplies, food, and other strategic material to forces on the front. Making the claim that this was targeting civilian infrastructure is ridiculous.

-snip-

... They are bombing Hezbollah headquarters in southern Beirut. Those headquarters are also in violation of international law since Hezbollah is a recognized terrorist organization, and their headquarters are purposely in the middle of a densely populated civilian center in order to use surounding civilians as human shields and ensure more civilian casualties. Most of these buildings have also been enlarged over the years in order to store stock-piles, meeting the above condition of a legitimate military target.

HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, and Fatah have learned this lesson very well and violate these laws every day as they run through crowded streets with rockets and hold children's hands as they fire Kassams at Israel, knowing that the IAF won't fire at them as long there are children or any other civilians in the vicinity. There is no such thing as sanctity of life to these "people". It is groups like Hezbollah, HAMAS, Islamic Jihad, etc. that are responsible for the death and injury of their fellow citizens as they purposely choose to use them as pawns, PR fodder, and human shields for their cause. Civilian casualties are 100% guaranteed, even with all the precautions the Israelis use to prevent them, when your enemy is running, sleeping, and fighting amongst that civilian population. It is guaranteed when your enemy digs tunnels to transport terrorists and weapons, and when the entrance to the tunnel starts under the bed of a 5 year old boy. It is guaranteed when you fire rockets from some house's backyard while children play not 5 feet away from you in the yard of the house next door.

Hezbollah has also designated southern Lebanon as their state within a state, autonomous from Lebanese control. Therefore, the entire area of southern Lebanon is a legitimate military target, and any civilians who refuse to evacuate the area on IDF warnings, rather choosing to aid and abett Hezbollah forces are aiding terrorists and are no longer non-combatants. The ports, airport, and fuel tanks are perfectly legitimate military targets, as they have have been used by Hezbollah to receive weapons, goods, and other strategic materials. ...

As far as the Americans there, I can't understand WHY they'd choose to spend their money in a semi-terrorist state. It's good that they're being evacuated. They're going to be charged for their evacuation. Tough-chit, ask for a refund from the people who brought you over.

Except that that's one of those 'fine print' things, you know- an act of war. I can see a lot of lawyers getting new yachts out of this one.

A one word denial of diplomacy

Ace has a brilliant aswer to those Communistic Liberal Peaceniks who would never think of using military force:

Diplomacy is a powerful tool. But it has one key weakness.

The word "No."

As in--

"Stop making nuclear weapons." -- "No."

"Stop firing long-range missiles." -- "No."

"Stop funding terrorists." -- "No."

"Stop killing and kidnapping Israelis." -- "No."

It is baffling to me that Democrats are unaware that, for all the incredible power of diplomacy, all diplomatic efforts can be entirely rebuffed with a single syllable word.

When Democrats are asked what to do about countries which keep saying "No" in response to our diplomacy, they invariably offer one strategy: More diplomacy!

Unaware, I guess, that every country, no matter how poor, has an endless supply of the natural resource known as the word "No."

That about sums up what's going on in the Mid-east right now.
What they fail to realize is, that you can't reason with a dog, he needs immediate "negative reinforcement".

And in a somewhat related update---The PLO just proved that they Just. Don't. Learn.
They killed another Isreali soldier in Gaza. And they're cheering.
How can you reason with animals like that?

Ehud Olmert

I'd like to take this opportunity to try to nip another lie bit of misinformation from the MSM in the bud.

It's been bandied about by some, that Olmert has "No previous military leadership experience".

Although he wasn't a general Officer in the IDF, he was a combat infantry officer and a military correspondent for the IDF journal Bamachane.

The reason I'm bringing this up is that I'm beginning to see more of those lies misinformation coming from the usual terrorist apologists. I've also heard (sorry no link) comparisons to Bush's *yawn* nonexistent military service..

There was however, no mention of the war hero Bill Clinton in that chickenhawk article.

Also, I guess the meme about "America's economy is going to collapse because of three soldiers- and triple the gas prices!" isn't gaining much traction since I heard it early Sat morning.

Factoids from the U.K.

First let me say that I'm proud to announce that I've corrupted Karens mind, so that she thinks more like an American than a Brit! That's a good thing.

  • Now she knows what I ment when I told her that driving in England was like driving through a tunnel (narrow twisting roads blocked by 10' high hedgrows.
  • She's looking the wrong way when crossing the street.
  • They (the extended family) went out to eat, and the biggest steak they offered was 8oz.- at a premium price.
  • During a discussion of politics (they're sounding more European/communist) they were complaining about the immigrants.
Her- Well, complain, let them know how you think.
Them: Ummmm, why?
Her- You can hold their feet to the fire, make them do something.
Them- What if they don't?
Her- Then vote them out.
Them- Wah? That's not done. If we do that then the other party will win.
Her- So? You vote for the person with the ideas that you believe in.
  • One brother didn't vote- and she fell down then by not telling him to shaddup and quit complaining- since he let others choose.
  • Our Air Conditioners work!
  • Fuel doesn't cost almost $6/ gallon for diesel.
  • Real portions of meat!
  • Space.
  • Less crowding.
  • Real showers.
  • FoxNews- theirs is even more leftist than CNN and CBS.
  • Broadband.
She's looking forward to getting her citizenship come Sept, now. And not just so she can vote against Hillary.

She thanked me for rescuing her, even though she didn't realize then that she needed rescuing.

As if you didn't have enough to worry about

Now, I present "An Inconvenient Truth"

(the Clifs notes version)

Be very afraid!

Thanks to the lazy bloggers friend- You Tube

As ye sow, so shall you reap

Mildred, the Church gossip and self-appointed arbiter of the local congregation's morals, kept sticking her nose into other people's business. Several members of the congregation were ... unappreciative ... of her activities, but, as the old saying goes, to fight a rumour is to give it strength: and so they remained uneasily silent, wary always of giving her a pretext to focus on them.

Came the day when Mildred happened to see a new member's pickup truck parked all afternoon in front of the town's one and only bar. At once she accused George of being an alcoholic. After all, she claimed, everyone seeing the truck there would know exactly what he was doing.

George was a man of few words. Faced with her accusations, he stared at her for a few moments, and then just silently walked away. He didn't explain, defend, or deny. He said nothing at all.

However, later that evening, George quietly parked his pickup truck in front of Mildred's house ... and left it there all night.

Catchy tune

Some questionable descriptive words, but it's a catchy tune. . .

Because we all know that Algores internet is for, , ,

PORN!!!!

Stolen from Guidons. A thank you for a new video site, too.

HMMMMmmmm......

THIS sounds interesting. I wonder if it would be worthwile to build one, and could civilians use it? I wonder what kind of permits you'd need?

Also touching on law enforcement, Officer Opie was lonely last night. I was jst comming into Castroville, and had slowed down to the upcomming speed limit when saw a flash of black and white behind a cluster of mailboxes. As soon as I saw that, the lights came on. After I pulled over and waited for him to drive up. I asked why he pulled me over, I KNOW I wasn't speeding. I had one licence plate light out, and the other one didn't light the plate as bright as he wanted it. I got a fix-it ticket.

Karen's home today!!!
Seems she's become to Americanised to appreciate the soggy weather over in the 'old sod', where people are crowded to gether like rabbits, and the dollar doesn't buy as much as she's used to.

Looks like the new color is red

I've been noticing a lot of redheaded spokes-babes in TV commercials lately.
I have absolutely no problem with that.

BUT. . .

If you're going to go from black to auburn, you REALLY need to do something with those huge black catrepillars above your eyes.

Really. It ruins the illusion.

Trust me on this.
As much as those TV commercials cost, you'd think someone might say something.
I'm no metrosexual fashion consultant, or anything but I can see something that doesn't belong.

I'm not going into the Israel against the sea of hatred right now

What I'm wondering is where are the cries of CENSORSHIP!!! agains the media in dropping Ann Cooulter from their editorial page? Even Editor &Publisher the liberal mover and shaker of the publishing world isn't bothered by this 'censorship'.

Anyone who has the faintest intrest in politics knows that Ann isn't a lightning rod, she's a Tesla coil of anti-Leftism. I don't have a dog in this fight, I like to read Ann taking the fight to the Left. I also like the way she makes the MSM pay attention to our views although sometimes she's accused of 'hatemongering'.
We had a universety cancel the NYT after they sold us out again on the GWT here in San ANtonio, and the local and vocal 'freedom advocates' were screeming about censorship.
It wasn't censorship then, and it's not now. In both cases the information is freely available, it's just not where you're used to getting it.

The usual Liberal hypocracy is searingly loud in it's silence on The Gazette of Cedar Rapids.

My that certainly was quick

You'd think that the same people who urge restraint on anything America is for would maybe wait a day or two before using the UN Security Council to try condemning Israel's well deserved b*tch slapping of her tormenters.

We're still waiting on the Iran nuke thing, have been for months. And The Norks? Lets "dialogue" before we do anything rash.
Israel is going after two legitimate governments who attacked her -repeatedly-, and is going to get slapped by Islamo-dictiphiles.

I just hope that we hear D.C tell Israel "go git 'em- we got your back".

We all know that's too un-PC for modern-day America.

A message to the reality biased community

Uncle Jimbo lays the smackdown on the Libs For their love of American military coffins.

He pretty much lays it out for the Dems.

Language warning.

AHHHh, there we go

Ya know- sometimes you just gotta ask.
Here I was trying to get my links visible and not getting them where I wanted (visible on all viewing platorms) when I got the BRILLIANT! idea to ask blogger.
(It came to me as I was sitting in my truck waiting for the HEB sugar to unload into your sodapop). I asked Blogger when I got home!

Here are three links- if you didn't have them already for color codes.

These are called the Named Colors.

Here we have the Proprietary color names

and last are the Websafe and Reallysafe Palettes. since they have more than 3 letters/numerals- I'm not sure they'd work on Blogger.

Whoa! Even the UN condemned the Paleostinians

"The United Nations representative to southern Lebanon, Gier Pedersen, condemned Hezbollah’s capture of the Israeli soldiers and said it “escalates the already tense situation."

Ok, it's not as blatantlyl forceful as they are against thIsraelis, but it's a start.

See, if you haven't heard by nowHezbollah came out of Lebanon and kidnapped two Israeli soldiers. (I'm giving you Rednecks' link because it goes to the NYT)
hezobllah, one of the parties that control's lLebanon.
One sovereignen nation.
Which attacked another.
Another act of war.
Which the UN and the rest of the "civilized" world generally downplay or ignore.

UPDATE- I just unf*cked bloggers "spell check" after seeing what it did when publishing. I guess that's OK because Google is in charge, and knows better how to edit a conservative blog better than I do.
Because they *care* more, and are smarter than us conservatives who actually take time to envision what our actions might have down the line,,,instead of just realizing how it makes "US" feel- no matter how it affects those we "helped".

And here I thought the Brits were having a change of heart

on their socialistic gun laws.
because I saw the word Parliment.
Yep, typical Anglocentric Yank American.

It looks like the Gun NAZIs are alive and well in
South Africa
.

A group of gun owners, unhappy about the proposed Firearms Control Amendment Bill, have protested outside parliament in disapproval of the law which they say will take away the citizens' right to protect themselves from criminals.

The Firearms Control Amendment Bill has been met with both stiff opposition and approval from many quarters.

So, these gungrabbing Libs want to take away everyones right to own a gun.

.....Oooops, my bad.
Should have read all the way through the article, because it's not so much about stealing regulating their guns as it is about accessories.

The protesters also objected to numerous proposed changes in the law such as that owners of certain firearms must be in possession of a competency certificate and the prohibition of silencers.

"We have explained to parliament that silencers serve an important purpose in terms of health and safety in that they offer additional hearing protection on shooting ranges to shooters and bystanders," said Van Wyk.

However, some believe that the new bill, which among other things, seeks to regulate the period of licences held by firearms dealers and owners, is lenient as it no longer limits dealers' stock.

Ok, now where did I put that pic of Rosanna Anna Dana?

Mirriam has a good idea

To send a message to terrorist appologists.

She wants to boycott the NYT on Sept 17th.
I suggested that we move it to Sept 11- to maybe help them see a connection- if they can. Then I thought why just the NYT? WHy not ALL papers and mags that are appologists for terror? I could probably think of ten right off the top of my head.

How to pass a drug test

For the guy who's doing a blogserach---

Stop doing them.

And don't do them anymore.

I had to fire a friend in the City Gas Dept. when he got popped on a DOT random.

I heard something on the radio last night

But I was too tired to look some numbers on childrens injuries caused by firearms. You remember the "ASK" thing in Pediatritians offices?

I came on some interesting numbers from the CDC. Your official government stats. These stats are generally for children 14 and under.
  • Child Maltreatment- 2002 estimates 906,000 in some form or the other
  • Child passenger restraint- How about 214,00 injured and 1638 killed
  • Fireworks- 9,300 went to the emergency room
  • Playground injuries- More than 200,000 yearly
  • Poisoning- How does 2.2 million in 2000 sound?
  • Traumatic brain injuries- an estimated 474,685 yearly
  • Drownings and near drownings-3,306 in 2003 with five times that many treated.
  • Teen drivers- 2 out of 5 teen deaths are here.
  • Youth violence-# In 2004, more than 750,000 young people ages 10 to 24 were treated in emergency departments for injuries sustained due to violence (CDC 2006).~AND~ In 2003, 5,570 young people ages 10 to 24 were murdered—an average of 15 each day. Of these victims, 82% were killed with firearms (CDC 2006).
  • How about Dogs?- 4.7 milliom bites per year
The reason I brought these facts up was because of something like this that was on some talk radio last night this morning:

Having a gun in your home, especially if it is not stored properly, can be a significant risk factor for injury and death in children. In fact, firearm related injuries are a leading cause of death in children, and include deaths from unintentional injuries, homicide and suicide.

Between 1994 and 1998, 6,287 children committed suicide with a firearm and an additional 1,896 children were killed by unintentional gun injuries in the United States. All together, 23,776 children under age 19 died from a gun related injury during these years, which is equal to 13 children a day. (source: CDC National Injury Mortality Statistics)

Now we're going from the "up to 14" catagory to 18+ years old,and including ALL injuries for ALL young adults- including the gangbangers who INTEND to shoot other kids.
-snip-
It is estimated that there are guns in half of all of the homes in the United States. Although most of these guns are purchased for safety reasons, it is important to keep in mind that a firearm in the home is much more likely (up to 43 times more likely in some reports) to kill or injure a family member or friend than an intruder. According to your CDC stats we oughtta git rid of our dawgs, too

Because of the number of injuries from guns, which many say has reached epidemic levels, programs have been developed to educate parents and children about gun safety. These include the Eddie Eagle gun safety program from the National Rifle Association, which educates children who find a gun to 'Stop! Don't Touch. Leave the Area. Tell an Adult.' The American Academy of Pediatrics also has a 'Keep Your Family Safe from Firearm Injury' program that educates parents about gun safety and advises 'the safest thing is to not have a gun in your home, especially not a handgun.' Epidemic? Like the Bird flu? Everybody, go up and reread thos CDC stats agin, then reread his numbers.

As the American Academy of Pediatrics states in their book, 'Injury Prevention and Control for Children and Youth,' the 'risks of hangun ownership outweight the benefits.' If you have children in your house, then consider getting rid of your guns. If you must have a gun in the house, then at least learn to store it properly.

Mine ARE properly stored, ThankYouVeryMuch.

First off, the girls have absolutly NO interest in them.
Secondly., they wouldn't know HOW to even start loading the Black Powder ones, and
Third, the Taurus is locked.

Musta been that neutron thing..

I expected better out of FoxNews

I have it on in the background, listening to the coverage of the explosion over there. They just told the world that Natural Gas sinks, and could be a cause of the explosion.

Just to let you jounalists know- not that it could save lives or property- Natural gas is lighter than air (it floats) but propane is heavier.
Both have an unmistakable odor that is introduced before delivery for use.

Now, before everyone starts panicking because the gave *gasp* gas in their house, here are some facts that probably will get lost in the hype:
  • In order to burn (or explode) the concentration needs to be within the range of 4.5% and 14.5% gas in air. Any more or any less and you can light matches all day long with nothing happening.
  • In order to ignite, the source needs to be around 1200 F (more or less- it's been a while). A light switch is smack-dab in the middle of the heat range.
  • You can't tell how concentrated the gas is from smell.

UPDATE- someone's getting sued. Fox just said the neighbors called the Gas Dept 7 times over the weekend reporting the smell of gas. I don't know about NYC, but in Texas we take that seriously. Any leak that is inside an active building is classified as a "grade 1" leak, and must be migitated immediately. This can involve fixing the leak, shutting off the gas including evacuating and venting the building.

I see several of jobs open in the NCY gas department , if anyone's interested. Probably ranging from the leak crew on up.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE...Looks like it might have been a suicide attempt.

How do y'all like my new dress?

I'm still tweeking it....

And I lost Haloscan.

So we have a brand new look, but he same content. Well it works for Madison Ave., maybe it'll work here ; New flashy packaging- same crappy product,,, at a new price, too.

Ohhh, and I'm adding Rivr Dog to the blogroll.
Gun pr0n

It is based on the 1858 .44 Remington revolver with an 18" barrel and loads the same as a Black powder revolver.

Here are the specs:
Grooves:7
Twist: Left
Total length: 35¼"
Total weight: 4.4 Lbs
Price $455

I was going to start an online store to sell loading stands and pistol display stands, so I could buy that toy.
I saw a caution about it, and it dawned on me that like any other cap and ball revolver- you don't want your hands in front of the cylinder when you're firing it.
There is a remote possibility that there could be a chain fire, and you don't want a hand in the line of any of the chambers.

I just have a hard time imagining holding and steadying a rifle at the trigger guard.
Oh, and the almost $500 price makes it even less tempting.

I did come up with a new (different) template for this blog, so all wasn't lost. I'll be showing off my new dress soon.

Some praise for Bill Clinton

Ok not a lot, but I have to give credit where credit is due (That's what you do when you grow up - Libs). I dislike most of what he stood for, and the example he (and his apologists) set for the 90's generation.

I will give him credit for having the cajones to send a message with a couple cruise missiles.
His motives weren't exactly pure, but he didn't waste time on *yawn* endless and meaningless international 'dialogue'.

So, did the Spampire collapse?

Have you seen the news out if Nigeria?

Nigeria is cutting thousands of jobs.

Ok, they're not spammers, just guvimment workers who.....ahemmmmm......
Are unqualified for their jobs. They're finally getting around to fireing them after most of them were hired in 1988. Chit, two more years and they'd be able to retire.
OK, now listen up

Bono . Needs our help, he needs answers.
He wants to know "What can we do to make poverty history?",

Yours, actually- I gave already.

He's got some good answers already;

BRAD T says: Make rich liberals give up their material goods in the name of socialism which they are always beating us over the heads with.

How is it possible that rich whiney liberals live in the same city as extremely poor people? Am I the only one who understands this contradiction?

Problem solved

JAWN K says: Maybe rich white singers in far off lands should sell their mansions, limos, and clothes, get off their narcissistic trip and give it all to the poor.

Hard to believe people like that bono guy live in a million dollar mansion and has the gaul to lecture all of us about poverty. People like him and Paul Simon are white-guilters who want attention. When these people sell their mansions and go live here (see link) then I will donate a few bucks. Otherwise, it's do as I say, not as I do, hypocrisy!

AZHEELSHOCK lets' Bono have it: Start in Somalia, Bono. I'd like to see you walk those streets that have no name...oh yeah, but they are covered with the blood of innocent women and children. Do something about that! See how far your fame gets you in the face of a tyrannical warlord.

Those were in the minoity, though. Most of the answers were pretty much on the Liberal page that boiled down to "send more money"
He's got over 20,500 answers in about 20 hours.
North Korean missles

All I've got to say about that is that there ought to be some big smoking holes where the launchers used to be.
Negotiations won't do any good. He'll play the world until he gets what he wants, then we play the game all over again.

And again.

And again.

....Untill someone gets tired of it.

Now, will Iran get the same pass?
Or will we just let them nuke Isreal just once or twice before doing something?

Winston Churchill reaches across six and a half decades

to b*tchslap the liberals, both here and in the U.K.

Just after Dunkirk:

...I am not reciting these facts for the purpose of recrimination. That I judge to be utterly futile and even harmful. We cannot afford it. I recite them in order to explain why it was we did not have, as we could have had, between twelve and fourteen British divisions fighting in the line in this great battle instead of only three. Now I put all this aside. I put it on the shelf, from which the historians, when they have time, will select their documents to tell their stories. We have to think of the future and not of the past. This also applies in a small way to our own affairs at home. There are many who would hold an inquest in the House of Commons on the conduct of the Governments-and of Parliaments, for they are in it, too-during the years which led up to this catastrophe. They seek to indict those who were responsible for the guidance of our affairs. This also would be a foolish and pernicious process. There are too many in it. Let each man search his conscience and search his speeches. I frequently search mine.
Of this I am quite sure, that if we open a quarrel between the past and the present, we shall find that we have lost the future. Therefore, I cannot accept the drawing of any distinctions between Members of the present Government. It was formed at a moment of crisis in order to unite all the Parties and all sections of opinion. It has received the almost unanimous support of both Houses of Parliament. Its Members are going to stand together, and, subject to the authority of the House of Commons, we are going to govern the country and fight the war. It is absolutely necessary at a time like this that every Minister who tries each day to do his duty shall be respected; and their subordinates must know that their chiefs are not threatened men, men who are here today and gone tomorrow, but that their directions must be punctually and faithfully obeyed. Without this concentrated power we cannot face what lies before us. I should not think it would be very advantageous for the House to prolong this Debate this afternoon under conditions of public stress. Many facts are not clear that will be clear in a short time. We are to have a secret Session on Thursday, and I should think that would be a better opportunity for the many earnest expressions of opinion which Members will desire to make and for the House to discuss vital matters without having everything read the next morning by our dangerous foes.

~And in a prescient warning to the anti-profiling crowd, he reminds us of what we Americans still want to imagine what the British public is like today~
We have found it necessary to take measures of increasing stringency, not only against enemy aliens and suspicious characters of other nationalities, but also against British subjects who may become a danger or a nuisance should the war be transported to the United Kingdom. I know there are a great many people affected by the orders which we have made who are the passionate enemies of Nazi Germany. I am very sorry for them, but we cannot, at the present time and under the present stress, draw all the distinctions which we should like to do. If parachute landings were attempted and fierce fighting attendant upon them followed, these unfortunate people would be far better out of the way, for their own sakes as well as for ours. There is, however, another class, for which I feel not the slightest sympathy. Parliament has given us the powers to put down Fifth Column activities with a strong hand, and we shall use those powers subject to the supervision and correction of the House, without the slightest hesitation until we are satisfied, and more than satisfied, that this malignancy in our midst has been effectively stamped out. Turning once again, and this time more generally, to the question of invasion, I would observe that there has never been a period in all these long centuries of which we boast when an absolute guarantee against invasion, still less against serious raids, could have been given to our people. In the days of Napoleon the same wind which would have carried his transports across the Channel might have driven away the blockading fleet. There was always the chance, and it is that chance which has excited and befooled the imaginations of many Continental tyrants. Many are the tales that are told. We are assured that novel methods will be adopted, and when we see the originality of malice, the ingenuity of aggression, which our enemy displays, we may certainly prepare ourselves for every kind of novel stratagem and every kind of brutal and treacherous maneuver. I think that no idea is so outlandish that it should not be considered and viewed with a searching, but at the same time, I hope, with a steady eye. We must never forget the solid assurances of sea power and those which belong to air power if it can be locally exercised. I have, myself, full confidence that if all do their duty, if nothing is neglected, and if the best arrangements are made, as they are being made, we shall prove ourselves once again able to defend our Island home, to ride out the storm of war, and to outlive the menace of tyranny, if necessary for years, if necessary alone. At any rate, that is what we are going to try to do. That is the resolve of His Majesty's Government-every man of them. That is the will of Parliament and the nation. The British Empire and the French Republic, linked together in their cause and in their need, will defend to the death their native soil, aiding each other like good comrades to the utmost of their strength. Even though large tracts of Europe and many old and famous States have fallen or may fall into the grip of the Gestapo and all the odious apparatus of Nazi rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

I just love someone with such a command of both the English language and the knowledge of the human condition. The fact that he was on "our" side is a huge plus.

DDT and you

(aternativly titled: HOT LATINA BOOBS -BARE BREASTS- MONKEE P0RN)

Ok, back to the DDT thing.
I guess I'm out of the scientific link here- living in the real world and all.
I just read this story on the residual effects of DDT.

First some chemistry:
DDT, an organochlorine, persists in the environment long after use, accumulating in the food chain and in fatty tissues of animals and humans.

Over time, it degrades into DDE and DDD, which have similar chemical and physical properties.

Thirty-three years after its use was banned in the US, DDT is still detectable in about five to 10% of people, while DDE is detectable in nearly everyone.

Now comes the chicken little act.

The UC Berkeley researchers measured blood levels of DDT and one of its breakdown products, DDE, in 360 pregnant women, the majority of whom were born in Mexico, where agricultural use of the chemical was only banned in 2000.

Well it IS California, so they only had Illegals coming to free healthcare to work with.
-snip-

For each tenfold increase in DDT levels measured in the mother, the team found a corresponding two to three-point decrease in the children's mental development scores at 12 and 24 months.

Children with the highest DDT exposures in the womb were associated with a seven to 10-point decrease in test scores, compared to the lowest exposures.

When the children's physical skills were measured, there were two-point decreases in children's scores at six and 12 months for each tenfold increase in DDT levels in the mothers.

Similar, but weaker effects, were linked to DDE exposure.

Ok, I only have my high school math here, but isn't a tenfold increase like multiplying by 10? You have say 10mg of DDT and a tenfold increase would be 100mg- right?
Then you measure it on a percentage scale, so one percent would be .001 of the standard. A two point decrease would be .002.
Or am I missing something?

-snip-
Professor Richard Sharpe, of the Medical Research Council's Human Reproductive Sciences Unit in Edinburgh, said: "The older the woman before her first breastfeeding episode and the longer and the higher her DDT exposure has been, the greater will be the amount of chemical delivered to the baby.

"So the first baby gets the worst of the chemicals stored in the mum's fat.

"There may also be a bonus to the mum in that she is ridding herself and her fat tissue of the chemicals in question and because some of these chemicals are potentially implicated in the development of breast cancer - the breast is mainly fat.

"This could be one of the ways in which early breastfeeding protects against breast cancer."

Ok, I can see the floodgate analogy with flushing out accumulated DDT.
But, ummmm- is my high school biology wrong? I was taught that milk comes from mammary glands, not the fat- or is it just leaching into the milk?

Ohhhhhhhhhhh,,,,,,,,so confused.
And here I thought that those illegals just didn't want to bother to learn English- not that they were to pendejo to learn.
